sure babe i can tell you a few things which help me. since it’s yandere, remember to keep up the suspense/mystery/horror/lust - whichever element you’re delving into for that specific story. actually since yanderes are a “taboo stimulation” for most readers, it’s especially good to amplify the lust and suspense. also, yanderes are not monolithic, you can explore many different psychologies in yandere beyond the average y/n obsession. a good, angsty backstory for your anti-hero helps character buildup sm and because the audience reading yandere tropes are usually engrossed in the passionate psyche of the yandere character, let the character drive the story rather than the story driving the character, if that makes sense. also this is a personal quip but when creating a y/n, i like stoic, solemn and almost meek girls i can build upon naturally rather than loud, overbearing characters. if you’re only adding mystery to your yandere then the story at times falls flat, so i especially like the quiet-psychos, cold-calculating, childish-smart y/ns and tend to shy away from girlboss y/ns. the contrasting (or comparing) dynamics between y/n and the yandere is the key driving force behind every yandere story~

I would love to hear your opinion on the Irene situation. Personally I am not sure how to feel about. It’s hard to judge how bad the situation was without concrete evidence/witnesses. Irene’s apologize also bothers me, it lacks sincerity.

Okay I’ll separate this into three sections so that you know what the facts, speculation and my opinion is.

[Fact] Irene verbally berated a female Korean fashion editor (Kwang Kook Hwa) for 20 minutes on the set of a magazine photoshoot. After the incident cooled, the editor did not receive an apology and feeling maltreated she took to Instagram and threatened to expose a recording of Irene’s abusive language. The post also stated that this wasn’t Irene’s first time being difficult with staff. Many behind the scene employees liked the post, including some that had previously worked with Irene. Kook Hwa’s intimidation worked as SM quickly took action and sent Irene to apologize (personally and on Instagram) as well as fashioned an apologetic statement themselves. Kook Hwa decided that the matter was then settled and deleted her Instagram post.

[Speculation] Irene has been rude to behind the scenes staff on multiple occasions. There have been many blind items written about her because of her tendency to explode over small matters. One such one was that she lashed out at a stylist who had moved her iPad from a couch to a table so the stylist had a place to sit. Chinese staff are always treated the worst by her. Not just staff but trainees are also a victim of her maltreatment. The anecdotes coming out of Irene being a “good girl” are all coincidentally written by SM staff and therefore just PR control. 

[Opinion] You know how I biased Irene? lol. I had heard of the rumors of Irene’s bad attitude since 2016, and I remember a weekly idol’s staff member had written a half serious post about Irene being a bit difficult on set. But you know back then, these were just rumors so I didn’t give them much thought. And now...I’ve learned about how important it is to focus on remarks from behind the scene employees. There are many trashy things a person can do, but to belittle a service worker? That has got to be the most rotten trash. I don’t even want to explain how wrong it is to be rude to the people fucking helping you paint on your face or façade so you go make a million dollars while they continue to suffer from lower wages... Maybe she was only mean to this one person but whAT the aCTUAl fUCk can warrant a 20 minute reactor meltdown to the point of making the editor cry and then IGNORING her and living your luxurious life like nothing happened until she threatens to release YOUR Own woRDS sjdnkjn like I knew twitter was full of brain rot but holy shittttt the way they are defending this bitch while making up their own stories and the PR control posts jskbdj they are EATING that shit up lmaoooo this is why mother nature is about to yeet us into the fire soon. anyway fuck Irene I hope she gets thrown out of the industry (lol just being petty) but srsly people like her shouldn’t be celebs.

I totally agree with you about the Irene situation. I read a few posts from people defending Irene and it was clear that they refused to see the cultural and social aspect of it. Having a bad day might be a common excuse to justify rude behavior/comments in the west but in Korea (and many other Asian countries) is it unacceptable. Besides that keep in mind that nice people are also capable of being mean, majority of them just choose not to.

Although not being rude to someone is not a cultural thing, the cultural aspect of the situation is still important. But of course intl fans will ignore the culture while obsessing over the person lol 90% of them are Koreaboos without any self awareness. 

I also think it’s bigger than just having a bad day you know. Irene, with a powerful company and millions of fans/admirers behind her, knows exactly the kind of position she is in when she starts screaming in someone’s face. Imagine if the editor didn’t record the incident and still made a post...who would believe her? SM is literally known in Korea to put out late apologies AFTER vaguely denying incidents so think for a second about why SM would immediately respond to this with such humility. If the editor did not have proof then Irene’s mistreatment of her would’ve been buried like the many times it probably has been before. Her status is what annoys me the most of this situation. A celebrity placed on a pedestal with everything handed to her treating someone she knows isn’t on that same pedestal like trash is so disturbing... it’s an abuse of power.

And the people who think that just cause she was nice to some staff she can’t be mean to others like??? Do ya’ll not understand how humans work?? A bully can be nice to his friends and still bully the fuck out of you so???

so jimin's parents would be happy cause finally their son's wife is being useful. jimin's mom has a son complex and she's the one who spoiled him the most, so she's sort of possessive over her son when it comes to women (nothing incestuous, just a psychological thing) and she was irked the most when jimin decided to get married. but she's also not someone who can say no to her son, so she just wanted a person who will spoil jimin like she does and OC was perfect for that. this is something both the mom and dad noticed. they did extend proper courtesy towards the oc and oc who was starved for love was in over her head at the slightest bit of kindness so they all got along well and kept in touch occasionally. however the more years that went by without news of a grandchild, the more worried jimin's mom became. she would never bother jimin over something like this but there were times where she would invite the oc over to "encourage" her to have a kid, even once insinuating the uselessness of barren women. the dad also thinks a woman should provide a child but he's also someone who doesn't butt into people's business. so yeah, the worst news of oc's life would have been an absolute delight for them.

as for oc's mom, she's someone who literally doesn't understand how her daughter feels unless oc directly tells her. like you know how people can notice things from small habits of other people. for instance if they remove cucumbers from their dish = they must dislike cucumbers. yeah she's someone who wouldn't notice that until oc screams 'i hate cucumbers' in her face. anyway she would be ecstatic thinking oc and jimin's relationship is going well because oc is pregnant and jimin hasn't left her lmao. a very simple minded woman who only sees things through her own special lenses.

do u ever have those moments when came up with a great story idea but the you find out someone already made a story with a similiar plot???? what do u do when that happens

I’d write the story anyway and just make sure I’m well versed enough in the ‘similar plot’ story so that I don’t take anything from it. I mean that’s the whole reason AU and tropes exist right, because fanfiction can be repetitive? How many times have you come across a “enemies to lovers” scenario? Hmm to further explain, there’s this story I’m writing which I’ve been talking about to a friend since last May. But then around September I saw someone, somewhere in the tags wrote a pretty popular imagine with the same key contents. It’s not like two people can’t have the same idea and I’d even have proof that I’ve been working on this story for a long time ( SS of the conversation with my friend with time stamps), but still I’ve managed to shape each key aspect of the story in a way that if I upload the story this minute, no one would be able to make any connections to the imagine.

Overall just don’t stress yourself, write the story the way you wanted to. And if you are accused of stealing or whatever, it has a lot more to do with how you write rather than how similar the plot is.
