Help me!
My brother in skepticism…
How can I explain to you that nobody “owes” King a damn thing.
He chose to donate blood, which does not require any form of repayment, outside of some juice.
But, if anyone really felt beholden to him, then Derin and I guess maybe Sey (because that boy is still so down bad for Derin) would be the ones to make any sort of effort.
You can be thankful, but again, you personally aren’t actually involved. Unless it is in sort of a peripheral way.
Fucking imagining some alien going. "... Yeah..." And also. "THE FUCK." When they realise there's shawls that we don't know how they're made or how to make them again. Like:
"Excuse me?"
"how much of your history do you not know because reasons?"
"... I mean, yeah, but-"
"you get it, now get the fuck out, I'm trying to decode this."
**furious staring and string intersplicing**
Also, I know we can probably make the shawl, we'd need a 3-D scan of like, the shawl, have it be 3-D printed and then slowly deconstruct how they were woven with twine.
Like, I learned how to weave a fishtail kinda rope by pure ADHD. "... If I tie each of these together so that they're both standing upright, and them put it left, right and so on... Oh shit it's making a rope."
I've done it before with other rope, just. Remade the fabric with random bits of twine, I end up deconstructing and pulling it apart. But like. If my stupid ass could make a copy of a fabric based purely on looking at how it's woven and working backwards, then theoretically. We could figure out how to make fabrics that were lost to time if we use fancy scanners (read; our eyeballs) to follow the strings and recreate the motions it should've taken.
"... Why didn't we do that???"
"... Probably because your species is largely future focused, once you meet a dead end, it sounded like- oh shit. I think I figured out how it's woven."
