He swore he could hear ringing inside his head.
He had never expected to be shouted by one of the twins 一 of all people 一 Oliver. Alasdair came out from the library, several books at hand. His eyes glowing, eager to flip through the worn out pages.
He stared at the taller and tilted his head, his face showing no void of emotion, but the tone of his voice showed he’s obviously confused.
“What is this you speak of, Ollie?”
“Wasn’t I worth a goodbye?”
Alasdair stood there frozen, pondering on what to respond to the elder but his face wasn’t showing it. They haven’t seen each other for almost a year, although he did promise he would return. And here he was, standing in front of him.
His lips curl into a small smile, happy that he was welcomed by him (even though he wouldn’t admit it).
“Did you wait too long,” he responds in his usual bored tone. His expressions remaining the same. For someone who struggles expressing himself, his eyes spoke different volumes. He definitely missed him. “Prince Valentine.”
"I haven't been resting. I can't sleep."
He hums in response, unsure of what to respond to his elder sister, that’s what she told him at least.
He doesn’t ask why she couldn’t sleep, 一 not that he doesn’t want to know 一 afraid that he’s butting into her business. He doesn’t say anything either but he moves closely to her, an arm resting over her shoulders 一 it’s his way of affection, he thinks.
“Sorry.” Alasdair mutters sincerely, his voice laced in worry, apologetic that he couldn’t do anything to help.
“What more do you want from me?”
“Huh..?” It comes out of his mouth, a few seconds the latter had approached him. He doesn’t remember asking anyone for anything, nor owing anyone. So, he stood there dumbfounded.
“What does she want?” What does he, himself, want from her?
Alasdair thinks but, without noticing, he spoke his mind. Loud and clear. He gives her a curious glance, awaiting for her reply.
“You need to solve problems under pressure.”

“I genuinely don’t see why I have to take Math... I’m a Sociology student this is a load of boogus nonsense.” Jaebum admittedly should have been paying more attention to their professor but it’s really, really hard to concentrate when they look like a woompa loompa. Grimacing he looked over the procedure he had done before sliding his paper over to the girl. “Just decapitate me and get it over with. It will be easier for both of us.”
