“Ok, I can fucking do this.” Marcell whispered to himself, his hand on the doorknob that would lead to the salon where his parents currently sat, awaiting his arrival.
His heart was beating faster than that time he saw Elias kiss Rüdiger - well, almost kiss - and faster even when he told his Sun how he felt about him.
He was more annoyed than when he had to watch Nina fuss over Rüdiger’s prom outfit for over an hour. Even more annoyed than he was at having to watch them dance - four times.
He was starting to get angrier as he glared at the doorknob. Stupid shiny thing just being there, doing nothing to help ease his stress. Stupid metal bullshit. Why are doorknobs even a thing, anyway?! In a house this goddamn big surely his idiot parents could afford to give all the doors handles instead. Way more practical! Way easier to open with sweaty as fuck hands.
Ugh.
His parents knew he was gay and they didn’t care. They still expected him to live his life as they saw fit, as they commanded him to, but he needed to stand up for himself. He wasn’t about to leave his Sun, just because these idiot homophobes thought they could control him.
And how dare they raise him like they did and expect him to back down!

Well, alright, that last piece of parental advice wasn’t going to help him in this situation.
Marcell closed his eyes and took a deep breath when his shoulders were suddenly gripped tightly and he felt a puff of air by his ear.
“I believe in you.” Rüdiger said from behind him and squeezed Marcell’s shoulders. He let out the breath and let go of the knob. He turned around and hugged his boyfriend, feeling Rüdiger’s arms come up around his waist.
“I don’t wanna fucking do this.” Marcell’s voice trembled as he whispered into Rüdiger’s neck and he hugged him a little tighter. He would’ve loved to forget this, to turn around and just never come back here again.
“You deserve to make them listen to you.” Rüdiger said, “They should hear what their only son has to say before he leaves his home and his family forever.”
Marcell sighed and let go, “They’re not my family. You are.” Rüdiger smiled his beautiful sunny smile and leaned in to kiss his boyfriend’s cheek, “And I’ll be waiting for you outside. Take as much time as you need, my love.”
Marcell rolled his eyes as Rüdiger walked backwards to the entrance hall but he couldn’t help smiling back at him. This would only take a minute. He really only wanted to say one thing to them.
He turned around and frowned at the stupid doorknob. Then he turned it and entered the salon.
they first met in elementary school. rüdiger looked for a seat in the classroom and he saw that the one beside marcell was free so he went over there, all excited about his first day of school and asked mari if the seat was free and mari nodded (he was speechless and v gay already)

that would have to be nina. she’s with them pre- and post-character development bc she’s the only one that forgives them both and sees how happy they make each other. sure, at first she was in love with mari and didn’t see them as a couple but as soon as they were together, she was super happy for them.

their first kiss happened because marcell had enough of the drama and his feelings of jealousy towards a certain new boy, so one day he took rüdiger to the hall in front of the school library while class was still going, so no one was there. it was a beautiful day, with the sunlight streaming into the hall through the big glass windows facing the school’s courtyard. mari sat rü down on one of the tables, looked him in the eye and cofessed his feelings. rüdiger then kissed him.

oh wow so marcell’s parents absolutely ignore the fact that he is gay. in their heads he is straight, and they don’t care about anything else. they also don’t believe/ignore that rüdiger is his boyfriend, so i guess, it never happens? in their tiny bigoted homophobic brains rücell are just roommates forever.
rüdiger’s parents are thrilled when they find out that the boy who’s been their son’s best friend since elementary school and so obviously loves him, finally had the guts to confess and welcome him with open arms into their little family.
What was their first fight over and how did they get past it?
their first big fight happened a year after marcell decided to move to america to study there and become a better business man for his parent’s company. it was ok at first, a big adjustment from living together to only talking to each other on the phone/skyping and seeing each other maybe 3 times in that year, but it kind of worked. then one day, shortly after visiting rüdiger back home, marcell calls him to break up with him. they have a huge fight on the phone and well, they don’t get past it. they’re broken up for about 3 years after that. (i keep changing the timline post-breakup but it’s somewhere around 3-5 years)
Which one is more easily made jealous?
lmao the entire reason they got together in the first place was because marcell was jealous of elias. rü only felt real jealousy once in his life and it was such an ugly feeling to him that he swore to himself to never let it get out of hand like that again. mari never finds out and the others don’t talk about it.

they’re both very cuddly! mari loves to be the big spoon always. i guess they love it best when they’re both sitting on the sofa, rü’s back to mari, reading their books individually.

well at first mari did not expect the anger and hurt to still be so strong when he came back but after a little while and a good talk with his best friend, ice, he gets it and that’s when he turns up the romance. i’m talking flower deliveries to rü’s workplace, i’m talking self-made baked goods, cute cards in the mail, even love letters and mari is really bad at the written word. but he tries hard to win his sun back and he manages to do just that.
at some point he makes a big poster with his favourite pictures of them (some from the past, but most of them recent, when he managed to be friendly with rüdiger and his pet wolfgang forgave him for trying to call him “wolfie”) and there’s a section in a corner he calls “aspirations” where he just wrote “to be with:” and it’s full of nicknames for rü that he used before and new ones that he wants to use and he’s very good at making up sweet names for his sun. and when rüdiger sees that, he just... melts. it’s been almost two years and mari has managed to stay respectful and rü never expressed any distaste for mari’s advances, even when mari asked. and so marcell learned to love this changed man as the changed man he has become himself. and he wins rüdiger back with all the love he has in his heart and swears an oath to rü and himself to never leave like that again. and rü hugs him and kisses him and forgives him and it is beautiful. and so they lived happily ever after
