[Watching Andrew's small face grow knotted and clenched with frustration, she knows she's made a mistake.
"She's real." He fires back at the older child, Emma, who's had enough of hearing about 'Nadia Butterfly'---Andrew's friend who can't be seen, but does like to draw with him sometimes.
Nadia knows she should leave, that watching him try to tell the truth and be mocked for it is only going to hurt. But she also needs to know how much she's risked simply by chatting to one---only one--- five-year-old. And she feels horrible, and responsible for this interrogation happening to him.]
[And then another adult enters. She feels like she can hardly breathe. Now she’s really, truly made a mistake.]
