WHEN FUTURE MET ARMANI
The Top 10 Best Future Mixtapes
Future was not the first mixtape star but he certainly was the one of the few to legitimize the form and he is arguably better at it than any other rapper in the world with a catalog that speaks for itself.
Mixtapes like 'Monster’ and ‘56 Nights’ are so arcane and non-sequitorial, they stack up with Lil Wayne. In other words, these are classic tapes made by a master artist.
With all this in mind, we’ve selected the 10 best mixtapes in Future’s career, from obvious classics to buried treasures. Check out the list below and tell us why we're wrong.
10. Kno Mercy - (2010)
His first go around. Who would’ve known this would become one of the biggest artist in the game in 4 years later. Now even tho this wasn’t our favorite tape by Fewtch, it was the perfect way to introduce himself showing Kno Mercy.
9. 1000- (2010)
Future Hendrix 2nd project “1000″ would sound more to what his prominent sound would become. "Yeah Yeah” was one of the hardest Future songs in 2010
8. Purple Reign - (2015)
Purple Reign came at a time when Future was really flooding the streets with music. I remember how hyped this was the day of the release and how hard “Wicked” was booming through my speakers.
7. Beast Mode - (2015)
The second part to the iconic trilogy, Beast Mode blessed us with classics.
"Real Sisters”, “Aint Chu”, Where I Came From” Future and Zay have a relationship where they compliment each other so well on songs and this 8 track project proves that.
6. Streetz Calling - (2011)
By late 2011 Future was proving himself as one of the up and coming Atlanta rappers to keep on your radar and Streetz Calling is a good indicator of that.
With Blaps like “Power Of The P”, “Same Damn Time”, and “Easter Pink”, it was clear Future was in a league of his own and would be one of the prominent figures in the rap world,
5. Astronaut Status - (2012)
Starting off 2012 in a major way, Future blessed us with “Astronaut Status”.
With countless blaps like “Space Cadets”, “Deeper Than The Ocean”, and “Transform”, Fewtch was slowly becoming a lot of people’s favorite rapper based off his mixtape catalog alone. This is still one of his most underrated tapes.
4. True Story - (2011)
Future had a legendary run in 2011 and if you didn’t experience it in real time, you missed out. True Story had heat like “Blast Off”, “Ain’t No Way Around It”, “Long Time Coming”, “Tony Montana”, and “Feeling I Get”.
This is a hood classic that showed the versatility we first saw on Dirty Sprite
3. 56 Nights - (2015)
56 Nights was such a special mixtape. Not just for the production, or lyrics, but the story behind it alone make it a top 3 Fewtch project
Future was nothing if not consistent, and this project proved to be his most consistent work. With dark, high quality trap production from none other than 808 Mafia and disc-jockeying from DJ Esco, each song is dope. With blaps like “March Madness” “Me No Compadre” and “Trap Niggas” this was definitely well received and the perfect way to end the trilogy.
2. Dirty Sprite- 2011
A The series that would set it off for Future, Dirty Sprite 1 would put him on the map and he would not let up. With DJ Scream and DJ Esco hosting this classic, Future shined bright on “Watch This”, “We Winning”, And “Upper Echelon“. Dirty Sprite showed the true range of Future as an artist and what we would see years later.
1. MONSTER- 2014
Monster in my eyes is Future’s best tape but it’s also one of the best mixtapes of all time. This was Future’s heel turn and you can just tell from the tone of the intro, the sound in the production and the darker lyrics, there were too many bangers on here to not consider this one of the best.
Future linked up with Metro Boomin and the rest was History.
MONSTER
