Author’s Note: Hi, hi! I’m back with another fic! It’s been a minute since I’ve written one. I haven’t had much inspiration for fics but I finally got some today!! This is also my first fic for Dadley Adley so please be kind. Anyways. GIF credit to me, myself, and I!
Warnings: There is a brief mention of pregnancy but other than that, I think it’s alright. Let me know if I missed something though. I’ll happily add it for you!
Word Count: 832 (short boi)
Title: Take My Name by Parmalee
Additional: The reader can be read as gender-neutral! I know I said there was a brief mention of pregnancy, but the language is really, really vague so anyone that can and wants to be pregnant (whether they’re feminine or not) can envision themselves in this fic! Hope that’s okay and I hope everyone enjoys this! Feedback is welcomed and appreciated!
It was your birthday and you and Adley were celebrating by spending the day at the beach. You had spent all morning fooling around in the waves, splashing the water back and forth at each other as you both laughed your heads off. Then, you had spent all afternoon playing with the sand to see who could make the best sandcastle. As much as you didn’t want to admit it, Adley had bested you tenfold with his gorgeous sandcastle that looked like something straight out of a sandcastle competition. Now that the sun was starting to set, the two of you were walking along the shoreline hand in hand as a cool breeze swirled around you.
Just as the sun got to the horizon and made the sky light up like it was on fire, Adley stopped walking. You turned to look at him, a look of confusion on your face.
“Is something wrong? Did you step on some glass or a stick?” You asked, using your free hand to motion down to Adley’s barefeet.
Adley smiled softly and chuckled as he shook his head. “No, nothing like that.”
Before you could say anything in response, Adley let go of your hand and dropped to one knee. He reached into the pocket of his shorts and pulled out a black ring box. When he popped it open, there was a black and orange engagement ring glistening in what little sunlight remained.
“Adley, I—”
“Don’t say anything yet,” Adley said, his voice sounding a little nervous. “I wanna say my bit first. If that’s alright with you?”
Nodding, you put one of your hands on Adley’s shoulder and gave it a comforting squeeze. Adley looked over at your hand before he looked up at you and mouthed ‘thank you’. Nodding again, you motioned your hand encouragingly to let your boyfriend know that you were ready for him to say whatever it was that he had planned out.
“Okay, so...” Adley paused to run a hand along the back of his neck. You squeezed his shoulder again to reassure him that everything was alright. He seemed to appreciate that because he smiled softly at you and patted your wrist before he continued to speak. “I was wondering if you’d, um, take my hand in marriage and become my spouse? I have enough of this waiting bullshit and taking my time because how I feel with you... It’s the best I’ve ever felt.”
You felt your stomach twist in knots and your heart rate increase significantly at what Adley had just said. Your legs also felt they were suddenly made of gelatin. So, you did the only thing you could think to do: you sat down in the sand so you didn’t fall over later.
Adley chuckled as he brought one of his hands over and began running it soothingly along your kneecap. “I know this might be a little crazy for you because it might seem kinda soon. But I have more to say if you want me to say it.”
Swallowing thickly around a knot in your throat, you nodded. “Keep going. I wanna hear everything.”
Smiling softly, Adley squeezed your knee. “I’ve known from the first time I saw you that we were gonna get married one day.” Adley placed the ring box on the sand in between the two of you so he could grab each side of your face. He ran his thumbs along your cheeks before he leaned forward and placed a kiss to your forehead.
When Adley leaned back, you felt your stomach fill with butterflies when you saw the look of utter fondness and love on his face.
“Aren’t you worried that everyone else will think it’s too early?” You were a little hesitant as you asked because, deep down, you knew it was also the right time.
Adley chuckled, a small smirk washing across his lips. “Let them think what the damn well want.” He took one of his fingers and tapped your nose, his smirk turning to a fond smile. “I’m ready. I don’t wanna waste any time because I want you in every single part of my life.”
You picked up the ring box and looked at Adley with a bemused look. “You know? If anybody asked me, I’d say you probably would’ve been the last guy on your team to get married.”
Smiling, Adley held his hands up in surrender. “I know, I know. But every time I looked at you, my brain kept imagining that whole ‘white picket fence, two kids, and a dog’ thing.”
Smirking, you grabbed the ring and slid it onto your finger before you handed Adley back the ring box. “Well, it’s your lucky day then.”
“How do you mean?”
You grabbed Adley’s hand that didn’t have the ring box and placed it on your lower abdomen. He looked at you with confusion and you chuckled.
“We’re getting one of those two kids that you want.”
Author’s Note: Yes, it’s been two months since I’ve posted a fic. I am sorry for that. I’ve just been busy having a mental breakdown about the way Zack is being jerked around this season worse than Reese McGuire was in that parking lot. Don’t get attached to the back up of the back up guys. It doesn’t go well. Anyways. GIF credit to me, myself, and I.
Warnings: In m opinion, nothing. But it’s about a pregnancy reveal and I know some people don’t vibe with that so I’ll warn about it just to be safe. Feel free to tell me if I missed anything!

Title: Broadway Girls by Lil Durk & Morgan Wallen (his walk-up song LOL)
Additional: I know the premise is a pregnancy reveal but the reader can be read as gender-neutral! I made the language vague because I know that not everyone that can and wants to be pregnant is feminine. This blog is trans inclusive because this blogger is non-binary. Hope that’s okay with everyone! most of all, enjoy this! and feedback is welcomed and appreciated!
You were laid out on your bed feeling rather unpleasant. Your stomach was twisting violently and making you feel bloated. The nerves and muscles of your lower back were alight with pain that you didn’t even think possible before today. The muscles in your chest felt tender, almost as if someone had grabbed them and started squeezing as hard as they could. You knew exactly what the issue was and had for the last week. The only problem was that your boyfriend, Zack, didn’t know. You hadn’t managed to garner the courage to tell him as of yet. There wasn’t any particular reason for that; you weren’t necessarily scared of how he’d react or anything. You just hadn’t found the right moment to tell him. And, because of that, you had been stressed to the nines. That stress was making the nausea, the back pain, and the tender chest ten times worse. It was so bad it was making you feel like you had been run over with a fucking Zamboni like that one goalie from your boyfriend’s favourite hockey team had been by his tandem partner a bunch of years ago.
“Are you okay, babe?” You uncurled yourself and looked in the direction the voice had come from. Like you had expected, your aforementioned boyfriend, Zack, was standing in the doorway of the en suite. He had a towel around his waist, though he didn’t appear to be wet. “You look a little uncomfortable.”
Sighing, you gingerly sat up on the bed so that you could get a better angle to look at Zack. “Not… not really. I think I have the flu.” You didn’t feel that great lying to him but you didn’t want to break the news to him this way either.
To try to sell your point, you broke out in a fake coughing fit and did your best to make it convincing. When you were done, you looked at Zack. He seemed to look genuinely concerned; that made you let out a discreet sigh of relief.
After you wiped away the tears that had accumulated in your eyes from the forced coughing, you looked at Zack again. You saw that your boyfriend was leaned against the en suite door frame and had his arms crossed over his chest. You saw the towel around Zack’s waist slide down a little; Zack quickly reached down and tugged it back into position, tucking it in on itself a little more tightly when he was done.
You scoffed, which you turned into a couple more fake coughs to further sell your flu agenda. When you regained your composure, you rolled your eyes at Zack. “I literally saw you naked last night, Zachary.”
“I know but being horny when you’re sick will make you feel worse,” Zack deadpanned as he gave you a pointed look. “And how many damn times do I have to tell you not to call me that, jackass?”
You went to raise your hands in surrender but you quickly dropped them to your abdomen when you felt something lurch against it. You inhaled and exhaled a couple of times to try and counteract the sudden uneasy feeling that had caused you. All that succeeded in doing was causing another lurch, this time accompanied by a burst of nausea.
You looked at Zack with a pained expression as you laid back on the bed and curled in on yourself. You wanted the pain to stop because it was driving you bananas. Then, on the other hand, you didn’t want the pain to stop because you knew if you toughed it out, the end result would be worth it. The end result was something you and Zack had been wanting for the better part of the last two years. The fact that it was finally happening made you break down at the doctor’s office when your doctor told you. You were excited for this; beyond excited, actually because you were so ready for this. You were also scared. Scared because was anyone truly ready for something like this? What if you were terrible at the job? What if Zack was terrible? What if something went wrong and your dream was crushed before it even started? There were a lot of negative thoughts running through your mind about this and they were all causing you unneeded stress. So much unneeded stress that you were afraid that it wasn’t healthy.
You had been so lost in your thoughts that you barely felt it when the bed dipped next to you under the weight of something heavy. Turning your head, you saw that Zack was sitting behind your back on his knees. He looked down at you and motioned his finger along your side. Knowing what your boyfriend meant, you nodded. Zack smiled as he laid himself on the bed and slotted himself against your back. You hummed when you felt the warmth of Zack’s body against your frigid skin.
“Holy shit,” Zack said into the base of your skull. “You feel like a fucking freezer, babe.”
You chuckled, though you turned it into another coughing fit to keep up with the rouse. Zack soothingly ran his hand along the side of your chest; you used that soft, gentle sensation as an excuse to end the fake coughing fit sooner that you had intended to. You were beyond grateful for that because your lungs were actually starting to hurt from all the forced coughing you had been doing.
Once you had regained your composure, you snuggled back against Zack’s body. “And you feel like a fucking furnace. It’s helping with my back aches. Here.” You took Zack’s hands and placed them over your abdomen. Much like he had expected, his boyfriend’s hands felt tepid against your frigid skin. The tightness of your abdomen muscles started to subside as Zack carefully ran his hands along the skin. You grunted at the feeling, dropping your head back against Zack’s chest. “That… holy fuck. Your hands feel amazing. My stomach doesn’t feel as tight or nauseous anymore.”
Zack pressed a kiss to your temple as he moved his hands up to your chest. He cupped one side of your chest in each hand, gently massaging each side as he did. You let out a soft moan because Zack had released some of the tension in your chest muscles by doing that. Zack pressed another kiss to your temple as he continued to massage your chest. And, the longer he went about massaging it, the more relaxed you were starting to feel.
Your eyes were starting to feel heavy and you even yawned once. Zack pressed a kiss to the nape of your neck as he shifted his hands away from your chest and brought one back down to your abdomen. He took the other hand and gently began stroking your hip. You hummed softly at the dual sensations as your eyes suddenly felt heavier than they had been a moment ago.
“That feels amazing, babe,” you said, voice thick with tiredness. “I feel a lot less sore now. Keep going.”
You yawned again as you wiggled against Zack to get more comfortable. Zack hummed as he started massaging your scalp. He also started drumming his fingers against your abdomen. You felt your eyes inching closer and closer to sleep the longer your boyfriend went about what he was doing. You also felt completely relaxed and free from all the pain you had been experiencing all day. Of course, that’s when you had you feel something lurch against your abdomen. You felt Zack freeze his movements and intake a shaky breath.
“Am I crazy?” Zack asked, audibly swallowing. “Or did I just feel something kick my hand?”
“I don’t actually have the flu,” you replied hoping Zack understood what you were getting at.
“There’s a mini Collins in there?” Zack sniffled a couple times as he poked his finger just under your belly button.
You chuckled as you reached your hand back and patted your boyfriend’s hip.
“What’s your defensive position on the diamond?”
“Catcher...?” Zack sounded more like he was asking than telling you that.
“Don’t sound so sure of yourself next time. Someone might think you have a god complex, damn.” You sighed and pinched the bridge of you noise. “The number, you airhead.”
“Oh. Two,” Zack said, embarrassment evident in his voice. “But what does that have to do with anything?”
“You said there was a mini Collins inside me...”
“Then you as—”
Zack jolted backwards as if you had burned him. It was not two seconds later that he turned you around so that the two of you were face to face. You smirked when you noticed that he was smiling like an idiot and looked about three seconds from a nervous breakdown.
“Two mini Collinses in there?” Zack looked down at your abdomen and poked his finger just under your belly button again. When he looked back up at you, you saw that he had a couple stray tears leaking from the corners of his eyes. “Oh my god. Leave it to us to get twins after being unsuccessful for almost two years.”
You chuckled before you moved closer on the bed and wrapped Zack in a hug. You dropped your head against his shoulder and smiled.
“I love you, Zachary. And you’ll be the best father ever to our twins.”
“Stop calling me that! But I love you too, jackass. More than I can ever put into words.”
Author’s Note: Okay, so. Somebody asked me to rewrite an old fic and use a different player. This is that. I went with Matt because one of my best friends is having a rough go of it and I wanted to surprise her with something that would make her feel better. Hope that’s okay with the person that requested the rewrite!! Anyways. GIF credit to myself LOL
Warnings: Nothing, in my opinion. But it’s about a pregnancy reveal so I shall put a blanket warning for that just to be safe since I know not everyone vibes with that. If I missed anything, let me know!!

The bag you had meticulously put together at the beginning of the week had been sitting in your bedroom closet since then. You had placed it in there because you didn’t need it until your boyfriend, Matt, returned home from the road trip he was on with the Jays. Waiting for him to get back was driving your stomach crazy with nerves, anticipation, and making the nausea from the reason the bag was put together feel twenty-six times worse. It wouldn’t last all that much longer, though, seeing as Matt should be home from the road trip some time this afternoon.
When you heard the door to your apartment finally swing open, you felt some of your nerves relax. You knew it could be nobody else besides Matt so that made you better about this whole situation. That meant that it was finally time to get this show you had orchestrated all by yourself on the road. To do that, you rushed into your bedroom to grab the bag from where you had carefully hid it in the closet. You double checked the contents to make sure they were correct. When you were satisfied that they were, you squeezed the bag against you chest and took a steadying breath while closing your eyes to calm any remaining nerves you had. After mumbling ‘you got this (Y/N)’ to yourself, you walked out of the bedroom, bag in hand, to greet Matt.
You found Matt in the apartment foyer holding an Iced Capp and a little brown baggie that said Tim Hortons on it. Knowing him, you could hazard a guess that it was probably one of the fruit muffins.
“What’s in the bag?” You both managed to say at the same time.
Matt chuckled, a small smile on his face. “A s’mores doughnut. Don’t tell the nutritionist though. They’ll have my damned head.”
You smirked playfully, shaking your head dismissively. “I won’t tell a soul. You deserve a treat. Speaking of which. Come sit at the kitchen island and I’ll show you what’s in this bag.”
Matt raised a questioning eyebrow but didn’t say anything as he followed you through the apartment to the kitchen, taking a couple slurps from his Iced Capp straw as he went. The sound was something that you were well used to from how often the both of you would get one but right now the noise was making you want to take the straw and shove it where the sun didn’t shine on Matt. It was just grating your nerves because of how hormonal you had become in the last few weeks. Of course, you weren’t going to tell your boyfriend that because it would ruin the surprise. You’d just tough it out because you’d worked too hard on this surprise to ruin it over the sound of Matt drinking something.
When you arrived in the kitchen, Matt slid into one of the barstools at the island. He placed his drink and the doughnut bag on on counter. He looked at you expectantly, drumming his fingers against the granite. You smiled softly as you handed him the bag and pulled your phone out of your pocket. After fiddling with it for a few seconds, it had started to record the visual of Matt in front of you.
“Alright,” you said, motioning to the bag. “You can look in it now.”
The moment Matt stuck his hand in the bag was the most nerve wracking moment of your life. This was the moment you had been waiting for all week. Hell, the moment you’d been wanting for the last couple of years. The fact that it was finally happening was making you want to break down crying before anything had even really transpired. It was a lot to process and you were doing your best to keep composure so you didn’t give anything away to Matt.
As soon as Matt’s hand came out of the bag with the smallest pair of cleats you had been able to find, you felt your knees shake. You leaned on the archway next to you to keep from falling over and ruining the video and the surprise.
“Mini cleats? Are you—”
“Keep looking; there’s more in there.” You cut Matt off with a nervous chuckle. You were almost one hundred percent positive what he was about to say but you had to see his reaction to the rest of the items before you heard him say it.
Matt raised his hands in a show of surrender, chuckling softly as he grabbed the bag with one hand and reached inside with the other.
Even though you were a good ten feet away from your boyfriend, you heard the tissue paper that you had placed inside as filler rustling as Matt moved his hand around. You were dying from anticipation for what Matt would pull out of the bag. When he brought his hand out a moment later grasping a piece of fabric, you swallowed around a thick knot in your throat. That was what you subconsciously had wanted him to pull out next.
Bringing his other hand up, Matt grasped both sides of the fabric. He tilted his head to the left a little and you saw his eyes dart across the fabric; it was as if he was trying to process what he was reading. A moment later, he placed the fabric on the counter before he wiped the corners of his eyes with his thumbs.
“What was that, Matt?” You asked, your voice dangerously close to breaking.
“A baby onesie,” he said as he picked it back up and turned it to face the camera. “It says: ‘Future Third Baseman.’”
“There’s one more thing left in there.” You pointed at the bag, your hand shaking like a leaf in the wind.
Matt nodded as he stuck his hand inside. Your heart hammered in your ears as you heard the tissue paper rustling again. Your heart felt like is was going to simultaneously jump out of your throat, your ears, and your chest with how hard the beating was resonating. It was making you feel like you wanted to pass out, throw up, and have a panic attack all at the same time. This surprise was for something you had wanted for as long as you could remember; now that you were actually getting it, it was making you feel so many things at once that you were certain you were going to pass away from all of them.
When you were able to focus back on Matt, you saw that he was looking sideways at the bag. That made you swallow thickly because that told you that he had found the last thing you had put in there for him.
As your boyfriend’s hand came out of the bag, you felt your legs start to shake. You gripped the archway so tightly with the hand that wasn’t holding your phone that you thought that you were going to crush your bones from the sheer force of it. Looking intently at Matt, you watched as he examined whatever it was that he was holding in his hands.
His face went through a range of emotions. It started with outright shock, quickly shifted to unabated happiness, and finally ended on pure, unadulterated love as he turned to look at you. When he put the item down, you swallowed a thick lump in your throat.
“What… what was that last item, Matthew?” You asked. You knew full well what it was because you had put the bag together. You just wanted to hear Matt say it; needed to hear what his voice sounded like as he said the words.
“It was a positive pregnancy test,” Matt replied, his voice laced with as much happiness and positive emotion as you’d ever heard from him.
“And what does that plus the other two things mean to you?” You bit your lip as you gripped the archway as hard as you possibly could. Your legs felt like they were about ready to cave underneath the weight of the current situation and you needed to grip that archway for dear life to keep from falling to the floor in an emotional puddle.
“That my partner is having my baby.”
Matt’s eyes were shiny and a few stray tears spilled from the corners of them as he stood from the barstool and walked over to you. He wrapped you in the tightest hug he had ever given you and softly ran his hands along your back. Not a moment later, you felt him start to vibrate against you. That told you that your boyfriend had started to cry. You stopped the recording and slipped your phone back into your pocket before you brought your hands up and ran them soothingly along Matt’s sides. Matt brought his head up connected his lips with yours. Smiling into the kiss, you moved your hands to your boyfriend’s back and gripped gently to get a better kissing experience. When Matt stopped kissing you, he stepped back a couple of steps. He brought a hand up and gently slotted it over your stomach, a fond smile on his face.
“I know this is probably a little premature,” he started, rubbing his hand along the tiny bump that was already forming. “But I love you already little one.”
Your heartstrings pulled incredibly taut in your chest as Matt continued to rub gently along the tiny bump. You leaned down and pressed a kiss to Matt’s cheek, a soft smile on your face. Matt hummed as he gently ran his thumb along your stomach.
“I love you so much, Matthew,” you said as you put both of your hands on top of Matt’s hand over your stomach.
Matt smiled, bringing his free hand up to gently cup your cheek, running his thumb along the cheek bone. After staring longingly into your eyes for a moment, he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“I love you way more than you’ll ever know, (Y/N),” Matt said. “And I’m so ready for us to be parents to this baby.”
You felt your entire body fill with fondness and warmth at the fact that Matt felt the same way you did about becoming a parent. It was so nice to be on the same page about this. It was so nice because you and Matt becoming parents is everything you could ever want.
