When in your life did you begin writing? What is your writing process like?

Before I started writing fic the only writing I did was poems when I was in a mood. That started when I was a teen. I started writing fic when I was 33, last year.

My process is pretty chaotic. I listen to music when I write but then the tv is also on, it stems from when I was a kid and I couldn’t work in silence. Sometimes I get an idea and it won’t let go and other times I play stare at the screen for hours. I’m also really good at procrastinating and distracting myself.

But seriously I have notes in a million places in my phone and I talk ideas out with friends so sometimes I have to search the ideas cause I forgot to put them in a note.

I frequently jump from documents to something else because my brain is all over the place at once. It’s the reason I have so many WIP’s. I’ve been known to write three fics at once. Like I said, chaotic.

I’ve slowly started trying new foods (I was a really picky eater as a kid and had a huge aversion to anything in the water - shrimp, fish, clams, etc.) and I’ve eaten a few odd things, some good, some bad. Might be tame compared to others, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ olives (green only)...venison...something with truffles/truffle oil (not a huge fan)...alligator, octopus, squid (calamari? so good!), questionable goat meat...weird, squeaky Armenian cheese. but something I will always HARD PASS?

BALUT. the thing that was always featured on Fear Factor (omggg that show ended in 2006 I feel SO OLD). It’s a street food/delicacy in the Philippines, only I can’t fathom HOW anyone thought that boiling a F E R T I L I Z E D duck egg and consuming the contents would be a fun and tasty experience. nope. nope nope nope nope NOOOOOOOPE.

he was terrified his dad was not going to take his desire to transition seriously. He thought maybe his dad would think he was just confused or blame it on past trauma - like his sister and mother dying 

he made a power point project to explain trans terminology, explaining how he realized he was trans, how he would most likely want to change his name, use different pronouns, ect.

little did he know that one of his dad’s close friends in high school came out as a trans guy a couple years after they graduated. Jasper still doesn’t know that after he assured Jasper he’d always love him and support him no matter what, they’d hugged and cried and Jasper had gone to bed, his father called up that old friend he hadn’t spoken to in like 20 years to ask for advice and guidance. 

he packs. it helps with his dysphoria. explaining it to his dad was mortifying though

he prefers briefs for that exact reason

he’s That Guy that uses Old Spice. it’s not an obnoxious amount. It helps him feel masculine.

his favorite color is red

he wanted to be a dog trainer when he was young but his dad pushed him to aim higher. now he’s planning on being an engineer.

his grandmother is horrified by how little Spanish he knows

he’s a really casual gamer. he plays games on easy to relax. usually open world rpgs.
