RaaaatScraps Improv Comedy Show

Jonathan was the guest ‘monologist’ at the RaaaatScraps improv Show on 7 November in New York. He appeared in person and told three stories, which the improv comics then riffed about. When not on stage telling the stories, Jonathan sat just off stage. 

Asked to tell a story riffing about ‘majestic’, he talked about the videos his brother used to direct, starring them both. In one, made when Jonathan was about three, David stuffed pillows and sheets in Jonathan’s clothes and called him ‘Fat Jonathan’ and himself ‘Skinny David’. They then did a work-out to disco versions of Mickey Mouse songs, and the video shows Jonathan shedding the ‘weight’ of the clothing.

After the intermission Jonathan gave a birthday shout out to his friend Justin Gamble in the audience, and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Jonathan was theb asked to riff on ‘Taylor Swift’ and ‘teeth’. He told a version of the ‘throwing up after eating lasagna on a first date’ story which he previously told in Elle magazine (link). 

Jonathan said at an ‘interactive theatre’ event a ‘super hot guy’ with a body ‘like an Adonis’ slipped him his phone number and they later went on a first date at an Italian restaurant. Back at Jonathan’s apartment he vomited after making out and having a smoke but the date didn’t leave, rubbed his back (and then they had sex).

The third story related to his Mennonite grandmother killing squirrels in her yard.
