that reddit comment on the multidimensional chess game about how all multiverse related content is to some extent contrived because we can't even conceive of a game of chess in five dimension, let alone an entire story, is permanently altering my brain chemistry, because, yeah that's exactly what I was trying to do. trying to write a story in five dimensions without the contrivances. no wonder i couldn't finish it.

idk. something about the way that all media but especially movies/tv try to simplify or present wonky versions of multiple dimensions just... bothers me. there's only a few who truly do it well for that aspect of the story itself and those are the mind bending ones
