For someone who loves boneheads so much, do you have any skeleton characters of your own?
Kind of. I guess I technically have three, though I’ve only ever posted art of one of them, and that’s an MSA OC named Tibia.
whats it like writing for websites other than your own, like cracked?
It’s been a few years now since I’ve needed to “freelance” for money but it ine was a mixed bag. It definitely drove surges of traffic to my own website and helped me pay bills when I needed it, but it can be very easy to run out of steam if writing isn’t your main focus in life, and it’s especially hard to get your article pitch to stand out from the hundreds these sites can get in sometimes just a day!You also have to be ready to accept that a lot of the final writing people see won’t even be yours, and parts you worked hard on might be scrapped completely. On Cracked for example, up to 50% of my text was dropped and new stuff written in by their un-credited editorial team, which is actually pretty routine when writing for a website or magazine, and you strictly do not get a say in those changes once you’ve handed your draft in.For the most part this never bothered me, it’s something that just comes with the territory - but I’ve seen authors on some sites get ripped apart for inaccuracies or problematic content that I know from experience may not have been their own.
I think the worst example of all time that I’ve personally seen was when an anime fansite did a list of nazi characters and had rewritten it to be borderline defensive of them.
…..The original author was Jewish.
