A lot of people have been reaching out for resources on how to talk to their kids about race and racism. This is a helpful resource. I just had a conversation with my child about what’s going on in the US and it was not easy. He is confused why the police who are there to protect us would kill somebody. Explaining it to him was hard and I’m not sure I got it right but I’m going to keep trying. I’m going to keep the conversation going. As someone who is in the East Coast of Canada, where a man impersonating a police officer killed 22 people and then watching what happened to George Floyd, Regis and countless others, how are these children going to be able to trust the police when they need help? My white privilege means I can call the police, without fear, if I need help. Imagine if the people you are supposed to call for help are the one’s hunting you down. I know there are many people out there who don’t have to imagine it, I see you. #responsiveparenting #blacklivesmatter #racism #racetalk #racetalkswithkids #iseeyou #justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforregis https://www.instagram.com/p/CA5Lt6XHPhA/?igshid=hkj260lo6yzt
