🎥 Fave film

AH another tough question because I seriously have so many favourite movies, I’d say Gone Girl is up there since I’ve geuinely rewatched that movies so many times, like the cinematography is amazing in that movie, I even have the Amazing Amy book that came along with it when I bought it on bluray - yep, I even bought a physical copy of it. Get Out is a freaking amazing movie, I’ve rewatched it so many times and still pick up new signs or things that I didn’t notice before while watching it? Inception is on there too because sign me the fuck up for any Christopher Nolan movies. Plus Tom Hardy in that movie, oof. Oh and La La Land, I don’t care if people call this movie overrated but I love it so much, at one point the soundtrack was on repeat daily for a month. I even got goosebumps when I went to some of the film locations in LA - ANYWAY I’m gonna stop myself right here or else I’m gonna nerd out even more about movies.

🌡 Fave season

I’d say Autumn. I’m actually the worst when it comes to winter because I’m literally complaining 24/7 about it and even though summer is nice, when it gets too hot, I start complaining about it too, so I think Autumn is a good balance between the two. Plus I feel like I can wear all my favourite clothes and outfits more during this season. Spring is practically non-existent in England, we have wild winters then summer is here before we know it.

🌐 Languages you can speak and/or are learning. Which are you fluent in

English is a given but I’m also fluent in Cantonese, I can speak some Mandarin but I’m not as fluent in that language. I also know a little French too, but all the phrases I know aren’t that useful since all I know is how to insult people in French lmao.

◈ Beckett & Giselle !! ◈

    Top zipper, check. Front zipper, check. Everything seemed in to be right in place… Until she felt a hard object where there hadn’t previously been one through the side of the canvas backpack. Curiosity painted on her features, Giselle gently turns her daughter by the shoulders. “Honeybee,” the nickname dragged on ever so slightly, “what’s that at the bottom of your backpack?”

“Momma bee,” Alexandra mimicked with a grin, “it’s a baseball. Beckett gave it to me, he said maybe we could go to the park next time.”

Right in that moment, there’s a glimmer in her daughter’s eyes and the corners of Giselle’s lips instantly pull up into a wide smile. “That– That was nice of him,” she breathes out. Her eyes quickly glancing toward the bookstore’s window, she hopes to catch a glimpse of him waiting for her. When the view is instead blocked by a silver SUV, she knows it’s time to send the little girl on her way to her friends.

“He’s really nice, mom. I like him. — Hi, Mrs. Porter!” The same wide smile still plastered on her lips, Giselle mentally agrees with her daughter. You and me both.

Once she knows Alex is settled into her seat—backpack sitting at her feet, seat belt buckled, soft goodbye kiss on her temple—the brunette closes the car door, hoping to skip as much of the mommy small talk as possible. There was only one person she wanted to talk to right then, and he was waiting inside.

Stepping foot back into the bookstore, her eyes start to scan the area. The moment they land on him, half leaning on a round table, something in her heart starts to flutter. She’d felt whispers of it throughout their time together that day; when he’d snuck up behind her in the poetry section, as he’d lead the two of them toward a couch while Alexandra browsed, simply listening to the sound of his voice as he picked up random books and shared snippets. Beckett’s effect on her was becoming more and more evident, and soon enough Giselle wouldn’t be able to deny it if she tried.

He’d clearly won over her daughter as well, something she’d learned even before that day. It was nice, of course. It made her happy when new people were able to work well with the most important part of her life.

But this was different. This meant more.

Beckett had come into her life, so many odds against him given their shared history, and yet there he was. Standing not four feet from her now, in a bookstore of all places, on a Saturday evening having already made plans to tag along on the next trip. Someone like him could have easily walked into any other place in town and had a swarm of better offers to choose from. Better plans made from that day into the next month. Someone like her wouldn’t have usually questioned his choices as little as she had. Or been the kind to dive into a moment head first without a parachute. 

And yet…

“Beckett.” The distance between them comes to a close with quick strides on her part. Without hesitation, before the fluttering sets her heart off, her hands are on either side of his face. Her lips connecting with his own. Giselle can feel his hands catch her at the waist, and everyone else in the establishment disappears.

“That was for today, and yesterday, and next week. All of it.” Barely above a whisper, her words fall from smiling lips, radiating all the joy she felt inside. “And unless you want it to happen again, you’d better stop being so nice to my daughter.” ( @rachelkellcr )
