Winx Ship Tuesday: Brandella
So I made these Tuesdays up, I might forget entirely about doing this, who knows?
Overview
Stella is the princess and heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Solaria, daughter of King Radius who is ruled by the sun and former Queen Luna who's ruled by the moon she's the girl of both worlds and she is a typical princess diva type of character. Brandon is a squire most likely coming from Eraklyon since he's close to Sky, and is trusted to switch identities to protect Sky should a enemy ever try to come after him because of political affairs on Eraklyon.
Stella and Brandon know each other possibly because of Stella's staying back a year because of her blowing up the potions lab when making her new shade of pink which never happened sadly enough, they're definitely archetypes of spoiled rich girl and hot dumb jock who are the couple you most likely would be agitated of but Stella and Brandon definitely have a more engaging relationship.
Season one
Here is where it all begins, the first interaction we see is in episode one where Bloom saves Stella, brings her home and gets her nursed to health only for the monsters that previously attacked Stella to come back and try to finish the job of getting Stella's sceptre, Stella has called reinforcements and it's shown she's been known them and the fact they came in such a hurry says a lot.
Brandon often approaches Stella a lot, giving her the egg gifts the red fountain guys were supposed to give out as gifts, catching her in "The black-mud swamp" and her serving him a drink, her happily deciding to go on a date with him only for her to get snatched up because it was a trap.
In "A Friendship Sundered" we're given more insight into Stella's life, her parents are divorcing and it has an effect on her to the point she didn't even go home, it's the day of the rose so you'd expect she'd go back to see any of them but that's not the case, later on the guys invite Stella and the girls to come along (Musa stays back because we learn her mother has passed on) and so it's just Bloom and Stella, that day Brandon gives Stella a rose from the air as a gesture specifically for her.
In the episodes later on near the end we find out Sky and Brandon swapped identities, after Bloom feels humiliated and feeling lead on she leaves Alfea and both don't know how to feel, Stella of course does not mind the idea of talking with Brandon even saying she did not care whether or not he was royal because and quote, "Don't worry about it Brandon, I don't care if you're a prince or not, my parents are the king and queen of Solaria and it hasn't done them much good." This shows that despite the difference in titles she does not care and loves him anyways, in the comics Stella's stressed because she loves a page like him especially since she's a royal and a royal is expected to love a royal or marry one, in this case you can see it as Stella seeing her perfect man in Brandon and him being royal just being add on to someone who loves her, I'd pull the panel but the person who had the full on Winx site shut it down so I'm sad but it is what it is.
At the end of the season their relationship is solidified.
Season Two
They have a prominent arc in the beginning of the season, alongside the plot of finding the pixies and being introduced to Aisha, when separated from the group in episode three after Stella jumps down into the cavern after Brandon, the two are fighting against the waters and before we're exposition into the next scene Stella asks Brandon to not let go of her and he listens, when the screen comes back they're holding hands and soon carried by the trogs of downland back into the city.
After finding out Stella needs sun (reminder she's the fairy of the sun AND moon) for some reason they get an audience with the queen, the queen finds Brandon attractive and she seizes him shoo's off Stella and we have a wedding crashing side plot (we don't get those anymore unless it's Bridgerton) Brandon of course tries getting it through Amentia's head that he loves Stella and Stella's the only one for him, Amentia however understands and says to bring Stella back the castle only to keep her there until she can't go on any more and well die, Brandon of course knowing he can't do much agrees to marry Amentia only to save Stella since it's all he can do.
Stella of course is furious and after getting her energy back and getting with the group she's eager to stop the wedding, after the pixies are saved she shows irritated behavior especially when she doesn't want to take long because well her man is being forced down the aisle at any minute, of course we have Amore, Stella's bonded pixie who saves the day by giving Sponsus a trog who is deeply in love with Amentia, a spelled Rose and gets it put in her bouquet, upon Amentia smells it she becomes infatuated with Sponsus (It could have been a true love thing but who knows) Stella and Brandon are back together and go back home.
We're shown they have flirting competitions for the fun of it and to out rank each other.
Stella thinking to buy Brandon something while she's on Earth.
Brandon and Stella share a cheesy conversation and sooner when Darkar is about to scar Stella, Brandon jumps between.
At the end they are dancing happily with each other since there's a party ending every season.
Season three
This season marks the girls final year at Alfea, Stella gets into it with her supposed almost step sister Chimera, Cassandra and Chimera both hating Stella and wanting her out the way make a deal with the devil that is Valtor and spell Stella mid party while she's depressing that her dad is remarrying, and out of all the women in Solaria it's Cassandra but Stella also hoping her parents would get back together since she figured because they're both on the committee.
Stella is transformed into a monster, possibly a female ogre, she has webbed hands, retains bits of blonde but has of course increased in weight and height, this form did help but Stella wants her looks back so they seek out the mirror of truth, Stella asks Flora to place a temporary spell on Brandon so he can only see her regular beautiful self until she gets her looks back and.... It doesn't work so the whole time he knows.
Him pulling her up onto the ship, him worrying about her as he should because duh that's his girlfriend.
Upon reaching the caves, Stella is trying to fix her problem but only until she's tired and trying to anxiously fix her problem and reveal to Brandon what happened he reveals the spell never worked, and she's confused because the way she looks he didn't run away and he's says why would run away from someone with a big heart and wonderful soul, even getting her friends love and appreciation of her on the case, of course this a shock to Stella because she thought only her appearance mattered but still brings her to tears.
Giving her a family heirloom which already says a lot, Brandon's love for Stella breaking the spell.
When the chaos ensues on Eraklyon after Sky is spelled, Bloom tries to go back and find out the problem with Sky especially since while she's trying to think and rest on Earth she finds out Sky is so suddenly getting engaged to Diaspro, after they run into Brandon who Stella gets on for not calling but hugging him nonetheless.
That is the only Brandella content we get for season 3 but it was delicious.
My notes because yay.
The family heirloom symbolizes deep connection, shading continuity and identity becoming a cherished item, meaning that for him to give that to Stella means he fully intends to remain with her.
Stella is definitely rather vain but she changes somewhat, she gets some sort of mean streak for some of these episodes where she acts overly out of line but when she's normal Stella is loveable and it makes sense for her relationship, Brandon brings a grounded energy to Stella and of course matches her energy, him playing a part in her life such as Amore does.
Amore brings the idea of love that Stella probably has a low perception of, especially with Stella's at home situation it could turn into an effect where she's definitely a skeptic of certain romances and probably thought of Brandon as a temporary date at first during the first season but truly going on to value and like him, Amore having more faith in Stella's romantic side but even having her own doubts but of course happy for Stella and Brandon nonetheless.
As a Stella kinnie I can hundred percent say they're my 10/10 couple, out of all of them, I love the certain add in arcs, the first between them was Brandon having another identity and getting acceptance from Stella and her basically saying "Yeah I don't really care about the royal thing it hasn't done my parents good." Then their love and what they'd for each other is tested in season two while in season three Stella is still dealing with herself and even thinking damn so if I just look good they'll like me only to not realize until so far they really like her, no snatched thin waist body with the tiny cute face, love her regardless.
After season three, the show is sold off and begins trying to make drama plotlines and ignore the character development and changes often making characters regress for weird drama plots that are not needed such as making Stella overly jealous of Mitzi despite the fact Brandon always shows that he's her man, her not listening to Brandon even when the kiss Mitzi graced him with is something that he couldn't even stop in time he had saved her typical hero style by bridal style in the moment basically, then on forward it's basically making Stella overly childish and aggravating making her prioritize being a fashion designer and keeping the winx in a hivemind while not knowing they can be best friends and do their own things.

[ PONG ] for our muses to play beer pong - from belly
music flooded the speakers ; drunk chatter filled the halls , masking the crashing of something that sounded expensive . all of it was washed out by the whisper of her voice . a challenge — and when two competitive people were put in front of a table with drinks in their hands , obviously they were both playing to win. ❝ don’t think i’m gonna go easy on you because you’re a shot deeper than me , isabel. ❞ conrad teased , a creeping smirk pulling at the sides of his lips .
( smiling was easy around her. she was good at making you forget that everything else was shit ).
no time was wasted before he flicked his wrist , sending the ping pong ball across the table . it arched and fell right into the middle cup with a PLOP ! the second one ? into the cup beside it . he raised his brow and held his hand out to her , ❝ balls back . don’t get too discouraged . i’m sure i won’t make them all on the first round . you’ll get a redemption at the end . ❞
