New Ariel movie - and what grinds my gears.. about the audience

Lately there has been a lot of fuss about the new "The Little Mermaid" movie - it's about to get realased in 2023. And what is the fuss all about?

Well, apparently people are not so keen on the idea that Ariel would be afroamerican. And well - I know that in the original series she was fair-skined, and she has red hair. I totaly understand the nostalgia. But, the message all of these people are sending to the main actress is:

You're not good enough to play Ariel, because you are black.

Don't get me wrong. I know everyone has their own taste. But what if this woman is a great actress? What if the way she plays Ariel is wonderful? And people resist to watch it, boycote the movie, because she is not white?

This is bullshit.

I don't belong to any minority. Some would even say that I have some kind of privilege. I don't know about that. But what I know about is that it fucks me up that crowds of people are giving some actress a really hard time because they don't like person having other skin tone playing Ariel. It sucks man. Sucks balls.

Is it just me or is this racist/racial profiling?

Today at work (mcdonalds in a predominantly white area), one of our cooks comes in behind the counter without his uniform on. He had on a Durag and sun glasses as usual. He's black. Quiet/to himself. Bout like teenage to young adult. A good worker. Anyways... So my manger goes, "James, wear your uniform next time. We can't just have you coming back here. You could be anybody." Then as he's walking back, this other white guy/coworker goes... "Yeah, you could be anybody, you could have a gun." And all the white workers cooking laugh in agreeance (sp.) So I'm just standing there making fries like wow, y'all some fuck niggas. 😒 Earlier this other one of my white coworkers walks back without a uniform, nothing said. And before that, some corporate lady comes back with open toed sandals on and a skirt and halter top... Yet still know one says anything. 😒And why he had to have a gun? It's more white ppl shooting mafuckas up in this country. Especially in common public places. Fuck amerikkka bruh. James ain't did shit to nobody. Mindin his own damn business. Comin to work on time, early even. Hell I've even come back there without my uniform on. Nobody said shit to me. Idk, that kinda just pissed me tf off. 😒 nothing my black brothers can ever do right in the eyes of this country. Even when they mindin they own damn business.
