Troy Trepanier at Rad Rides by Troy is responsible for some incredible projects, such as this one-off hand and machine–built deviation of Henry Ford’s 1929 Ford Model A Tudor. The 1929 Model A Sedan took time, effort and incredible skill to become a reality.
Please note the grille inspired by 1930s era Ford creations, custom-made for the project to add to the overall seductive aesthetic impact. Also worth mentioning is the visor, shaped to dictate the later-style two-piece windshield below it, as well as the upper cowl – welded to roll seamlessly into to the side sections – and the engine-hugging firewall. Behind the chopped top, including leaned-back A-pillars and soft-lip driprails, the rear section was fitted with a removable lower tail panel.
That 1929 body sits on a semi-highboy over an American Stamping 1932 Ford perimeter ’rail chassis. Please note torsion bars and Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop’s aluminum Dog Bone ladder bars at the rear, as well as the steering and suspension components that were designed in-house at Rad Rides.
A KSE power dirt track steering box, Lincoln self-energizing drums matched up with machined-aluminum backing plates, along with RideTech shocks work together to provide the driver with the most incredible experience of his or her life. Speaking of which, let’s also mention the Banks-designed/Laughlin-machined aluminum wheels
The sedan’s engine is based on a Bob Panella Motorsports–prepped 377ci Dart/Chevy V-8, complete with a Sonny Bryant crank, Carillo rods, and a COMP/Jessel valvetrain – there should be plenty of power. There’s no interior to talk about, just yet, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing; wouldn’t you say?
