Radamanthys, Pandora and their loyalty to Hades.
I saw that Lost Canvas was on Netflix and I decided to watch the anime again. And that led me to read the manga again
I suffered again that there was never a third season of the anime and my beloved Rhadamanthys never appeared on the screen.
I always loved the loyalty that Rhadamanthys and Pandora had for Hades and how that always united them, to the point that Rhadamanthys was also loyal to Pandora.
Rhadamanthys knelt before Pandora, swearing allegiance to Hades and HER.
I'm going to start with the things that happened in the battle in atlantis. They chapters in the manga go from 102 to 107
Rhadamanthys obeyed Pandora because he wanted to, he really didn't feel obliged to obey Pandora because she was someone close to Hades or because she was his commander. If that had been the case, he would have obeyed the twin gods who were Hades's advisers and were also ranked higher than Pandora. But Rhadamanthys never wanted to obey the twin gods and neither did he want to obey Pandora when she was under their influence.
When the twin gods were sealed was when Rhadamanthys joined the war, beginning to obey and protect Pandora because she was no longer under the twin gods influence.
Kardia even mocked Radamanthys' obedience to Pandora, calling him a lap dog to provoke him. But Radamanthys told him that: "yes, he was a loyal dog, and he was proud of that"
In Atlantis, Rhadamanthys saved Pandora's life. But he took all the blame for the failure in the mission, acepted that the defeat at Atlantis was because he did not beat Kardia of Scorpio and took the punishment that Pandora could have gotten. Because in reality, the collapse of Atlantis and Unity escaping and help Athena happened because of Pandora.
Unity were in the same place as Pandora, so Rhadamanthys had a chance to stop Unity and Athena would not have fixed her ship. But Rhadamanthys prefer to save Pandora.
It's funny because before that, Scorpio had already asked Radamanthys, If he could choose between following Degel or killing him, what would he do? (Degel went after Pandora to stop her). So Kardia, practically asked him if he preferred to kill his enemies or help Pandora?, Radamanthys said that what bothered him was failing in his mission. But when Atlantis collapsed, Rhadamanthys had a chance to fulfill his mission by stopping Unity (so Unity wouldn't help Athena fix her ship) or save Pandora. And Rhadamanthys preferred to save Pandora even though that meant failing his mission.
In Atlantis, Radamanthys demostrate that, Pandora was more important than his mission, all the time he was by her side he protected her. And even if they failed in their mission because of Pandora's mistake. Rhadamanthys never blamed Pandora, Instead, he felt that Pandora didn't succeed in the mission, because he failed (he felt it took time to defeat Scorpio and could not prevent Aquarius follow Pandora) So he took responsibility for the failure, he let Pharaoh (and Alone) punish him. And he continued to support Pandora by making his army follow her orders, while he struggled to control the blood of Hades in his body.
After episode 107, Rhadamanthys does not appear for a while, until chapter 182, When his body was finally able to adapt to the blood of hades.
Valentin thought that he was the one who knew Radamanthys best, and that without Hades, Rhadamanthys was no longer going to obey Pandora and was going to cut ties with her. But that did not happen and Valentin did not understand why... As I said before Radamanthys, does not obey Pandora because of the position she had in the army.
Radamanthys obeyed Pandora because he found his equal in her.. They both felt that they only existed, by and for Hades. Pandora didn't even believe that other spectrums understood the devotion she had for hades dedicating ALL of her existence to him. That is why Rhadamannthys had no problem swearing loyalty to Pandora, he knew that all the decisions she made were designed by and for Hades, without her having any ambition or desire other than serving and exist for the good of Hades.
Both work together to fulfill the utopia of Hades
"If he has sort of been like the edge of the sword, she’s been at the very, very tip of the sword saying like, 'That’s where we gotta go.'
This is a phrase is from JDS the producer of Voltron but I feel that this phrase also applies to summarize the relationship of Pandora and Radamanthys
