walking to the corner store I was approached by a man who followed me across a street and asked me for a cigarette. I told him I didn’t smoke and walked quickly to the store. I mentioned to the owner whom I trust that there was a creep outside. After I bought what I wanted I went to walk home and the same man saw me and began following me. This time I turned on him. He asked my name, and I told him my name was “fuck you” and he backed off, apologizing. I told him “It’s ok, but a woman has to protect herself” and continued walking away. I’d barely gotten the words out of my mouth when a car slowed to a stop and a guy leaned out the window and beckoned me over. I tilted my chin and walked away and didn’t look back.
