FALLON!!!! hey hi i love you <3
NOBLE BLOOD!!!! (i promise i will get caught up at some point i absolutely love it, the world-building and the relationships between everyone are INCREDIBLE)
what is the settlement like? as in like the structures and the way things are arranged - i'm imagining it like a medieval village? with the gojo estate kind of a focal point? is there a border wall or is it more of an open but established border?also, you mentioned that some of the dragons sleep on the roof of their riders' home - does the roof have to be specially reinforced to handle the weight? (i'm imagining a dragon falling into someone's living room and the dragon and their rider just blinking at each other covered in brick dust)
if you were in this universe, what would YOUR dragon be like? what colour, what temperament? any little quirks they would have?
HI ROXY i love you too 💜 also no rush to catch up i still haven't started the next chapter whoops but i'm glad you're enjoying it so far!!! your tags always make my day when you reblog a chapter
i drew a (very rough) sketch of the layout of the settlement for you bc i couldn't think of a way to adequately describe it with words lol so here you go:
red is residential areas, green is agricultural, brown is shops & businesses, orange is just kinda miscellaneous stuff. the blank space is somewhere i haven't entirely decided on, i'm thinking it's probably just lightly forested? it's still ambiguous in my mind lol. the inumaki family (a minor clan in this universe, when compared to the gojo & zenin clans, with the kamo clan kinda falling somewhere in between, as far as size) lives sort of on the edge of the residential area, fairly close to the ocean, and is the only other significant family that lives in the settlement. there are other fairly wealthy families in the area, but nobody as important or powerful as the inumakis or the gojos.
as for borders, one side of the settlement is against the ocean, and i imagine that one other border, far on the other side of the gojo estate and surrounding the agricultural areas, is a river. the other side is a more open but established border, in a hilly area leading up to a small mountain range. this is in fantasy pseudo-japan so i am very much taking liberties as far as geography lol
at the point that all of our characters are living in, construction of all buildings takes the possibility of dragons perching atop the building into account when deciding the materials needed for an infrastructure strong enough to support large reptiles. the only concern comes if there are more than 2-3 very large dragons on any particular roof (large is a relative term of course, but it would take multiple dragons the size of a car or larger to put significant strain on a roof). but very early on there were definitely lots of broken roofs and confused dragons & riders!
these are all details that may never come into the fic, but it's fun to imagine, so thank you for asking!!
as for my own dragon? she'd probably be about the size of toothless from httyd, and a very pretty forest green, with a sort of grey-silvery-white belly and underside of her wings, kinda reminiscent of the moon, or starlight. she would probably have water powers, because as much as i would love to have a dragon that breathes fire, i do genuinely think water, as an element, is more in line with my personality than fire is. she'd have fairly cutesy features, not look too dangerous, but she is more than willing to bite and let people know when they've crossed a line when it comes down to it. she's pretty introverted like i am, but she also likes to get me into Situations sometimes bc she thinks it's funny. it's never that serious really, just a little exasperating sometimes, but i love her no matter what. she's my girl and i love her a lot.
ask me noble blood questions!
