developing voice: historicity of femininity pt. 1
femininity in colonized america...
is historical phenomena, learned tradition,
and not inherent nor dependent on the topography of bodies, though some bodies are privileged with being able to contribute to the historicity of gender performance .
because recognition of our variations is key to our liberation.
has been dominated and violently ruled by cis folk,
with the production of new femininities only being recognized by bodies with vaginas and breasts
_______________________________________________________________
~ there is not just one femininity. there are femininities, plural, and one can practice a multiplicity of these femininities ~

this is a call for a reordering of femininities located in the united states
(b/c i am in the u.s. and i have no place to make a call for change in other places and spaces)
we need to recognize that any body, regardless of genitalia, hormones, or chromosomes, has the capacity to produce new femininities.
these bodies should be recognized as having the agency to do so.
_________________________________________________________________
this is a call for the survival of transfemininity.
we who claim our womanhood automatically have the capacity to claim femininity to our bodies, regardless of our dix, our deep voices, our beards.
we demand that our transfemininity enter the canon and persist through history.
without this, our bodies are being conquered and imprisoned by cis folks’ limitations and conceptions of their own gender performance.
we do not perform cis femininities because we are women.
we are women who CAN perform our own femininities.
