2020 Creator Wrap: Favourite Works
Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 (or so) favourite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works.
Thank you to @bri-notthecheese and @skatingthinandice for the tags! I couldn’t do this when I was first tagged, because I hadn’t created five things last year at that point. But now that Christmas has passed I have many gifts that I made for people, which I can talk about!
(All videos link to Google Drive, because YouTube messed up the audio on all of them and I haven’t had the energy to go back and edit them to work properly... Yet).
1) [Podfic] With Nothing But A Blindfold - Originally Written by bri-notthecheese
(Oswald Cobblepot/Edward Nygma, Gotham, M, 1-1.5 Hours)
This is probably the creative piece that I am most proud of from 2020, and one of the things I’m proudest of creating ever! My incredible friend Bri absolutely blew me away with her writing talent (to say the least), and it’s even more special as I had the honour of proofreading this for her - something which has since become something of a tradition between us. So, as part of her Christmas gift I decided it would be really unique and thoughtful to narrate her gorgeous work as a podfic! I’ve never done anything like this, but it was an absolutely incredible experience despite how nervous I was. I’ve always loved the idea of being a voice actor, so I kind of poured my heart and soul into this on so many different levels. And it was completely worth it! Bri loved it, and I am so proud of what I managed to accomplish with this 💕
2) [Video] Bruce and Selina - Easier

This was a Christmas gift for my friend Selena! Baby BatCat was The Ship™ for both of us when we each watched Gotham, so I wanted to create something that was really meaningful between us. I haven’t created a video for something with so much content in a while, so it was amazing to get to stretch my editing wings again and I think it really paid off! I absolutely adore this video and had such a great time making it, it’ll definitely give me the confidence to make more videos like this in the future!
3) [Video] Garrus Vakarian - IDGAF
(Garrus Vakarian, Mass Effect Trilogy, 53 Seconds)
This one was another Chistmas gift, this time for my friend - and forever Mass Effect Buddy™ - Jess! We are both Garrus Vakarian stans first and human beings second, so making a Garrus video for her was a total no-brainer. I had a harder time picking the song than the topic, because I didn’t previously have any songs that really made me think of Garrus. But after some searching of my music library, I found one that actually felt perfect for the kind of video I wanted to make and it turned out brilliantly! Despite the challenges, I am incredibly proud of this video and it makes me really happy to watch. Not least because of the subject of the piece 👀
4) [Video] Kratos - Hot Mess

Another Christmas gift! This one was for my friend Christian, and was actually the first video of the bunch that I made! If it hadn’t been for how proud I was of this video and how much fun I had making it, the others that followed would have been so much harder to make. I’ve been dealing with a really difficult period of burn-out for almost two years now, but this video gave me the energy and the motivation to keep going and to make such amazing pieces of art for those dearest to me. Plus, God of War was one of the first things that Christian and I bonded over when we first met, so it has such a special significance to the both of us which I wanted to express in video form!
But like, Kratos is also hot af so 👌😩👌
5) [Video] Rafe and Nadine - Despicable
(Rafe Adler and Nadine Ross, Uncharted 4, 49 Seconds)
You guessed it, another Christmas gift! This time for my friend Ginel! Uncharted was the very first thing we ever bonded over, it’s something that was - and still is - so important to us. She even introduced me to the incredible ship that is Radine! Until that point I had just been a Sam x Rafe shipper but Ginel opened me up to the wonders of Nadine x Rafe too, and my multi-shipping heart has never looked back! This video is a tribute to our roots, and was an absolute joy to make. Despite how little footage these two have in-game together, I wanted to make the best video I could to showcase how amazing they are and I absolutely feel like I managed that! And Ginel’s wonderful reaction made it that much better too 💕
6) [Video] The Beans Get Cracked
(Fall Guys and Uncharted Multiplayer Crack Video, 5:06 Minutes)
Last but certainly not least, a Christmas gift for my friend Jimmy! I’m going to keep this one private, as it’s quite niche and specific to my group of friends, but it still deserves to be talked about. This was SO much fun to make, and it was really special getting to go back and see all the funny and ridiculous stuff we’ve gotten up to in these games! It actually got quite emotional towards the end, because it was highlighting how much I love my friends and how important they all are to me. And it actually ended up being a chance to do some more complex editing stuff, in a more casual less ‘artistic’ way, which was really freeing to do and I was really pleased with the result!
