chapter synopsis: Her thoughts drifted to Sam. He had no reason to follow her all the way out there. He did as an act of kindness, concern. She frowned to herself. They had just met yesterday, it didn’t make any sense. Nothing about any of this made sense.

author's note: Okay this chapter flowed a lot more smoothly compared to the others. Hopefully I didn't rush it too much... Sorry for any clumsiness in my writing! Also was fun to write a bit more from Sam’s point of view. Everything will make sense in due time, and we’ll be getting to the Henry Avery bits soon, promise!
