Hey so in my MAT classes, our teachers gave us a list of books and in it I found a poetry book called Here in Harlem which has poetry from the 30s-ish era (mostly free verse) from black people ranging from students to laborers to veterans to disabled

NICE! I’m always on the lookout for poetry and fiction like this. I’ll look into it!

(Also, if you’re interested, the poetry anthology Unsettling America: An Anthology of Contemporary Multicultural Poetry is also a good read--the voices are from a lot of different races and ethnicities and across many decades, but they’re all really excellent)
