So, hey - here's a protip from someone who's been at this for a while. Maybe don't ask authors "hey how's your story gonna end, I really wanna know just so I can decide if your story is worth it or not?". Just a hot tip. A lil piece of advice, if you will. (Can you tell I'm annoyed and that maybe this isn't the first time for this story, not just my fics in general, that people have asked me to spoil the story so they can decide whether or not to continue reading?)
What makes people think they can ask authors, fanfic or otherwise, about how a story goes/ends? Read it yourself and find out, or don't read it at all. What's so hard about that? Why do we have to literally spoon-feed people these days so that they don't have to exert any effort whatsoever?
With fanfic, you already get way more information beforehand than you would a published book. There isn't just a summary to tell you roughly what to expect. It tells you what fandom it's about, what pairing(s), character(s), themes/AUs, potential triggers, other content tags. And yet people want more. And yet people want to know how a story ends before they've even started to read it.
Truly, people are spoiled and entitled beyond saving at this point when it comes to content that they get to consume for free.
sometimes i turn on botw/totk just to go to hateno village at night and let link stand there until morning. the combination of the music and the ambience is so calming and wonderful to listen to.
I hate following current anime these days and existing on Tumblr. My entire dashboard is full of gifs from people who prioritised making a gif over actually watching the episode. Just because you have to be the first to make a gif of a certain scene or, hey, why not the entire episode. Make actually watching the episode unnecessary. Watch it in choppy, grainy six-frame gifs instead.
gojohime "the mentalist" AU where they're jane & lisbon is too good to pass up on but i physically cannot take on another WIP rn but just know. it's on my mind.
I cried during the end of the final episode of Heartstopper's first season when Nick and his mum cried when he came out to her. Now I'm crying again when Kit Connor's wonderful acting shines through specifically in S2:E8 during his convo with Charlie where he tears up and cries. Goddamn, what a talent. Wow.
Current state: Still wiping my tears and attempting to collect myself after watching "Barbie".
Don’t ask me how I started thinking about this but you know the so-called Waffle House Index where, like, if Waffle House is still open, it’s considered “eh, not bad enough” of a whatever-the-hell America is suffering through at the moment? What about the poor workers who are forced by their jackass managers to come in and work during hurricanes and whatnot? They carry the stupid Waffle House Index on their backs. If I for some reason lived in America, worked at a Waffle House, and my manager called/texted me and said “hey so I know Hurricane What’s-His-Nose is on its way but uhhhhh yeah. Come in to work anyway or we’ll fire you” - I would laugh in their face and quit.
