@radiostatic0 y'know i've never actually thought about this before because while his reaction feels like a tamer version of, say, the endless bummer mouth to mouth scene, it also reminds me of johnny's freakout when he got massaged by the guy in spa sp*z. i can see johnny being that horrified by the thought of "woman who held him in her arms seconds ago was actually carl". we never see if carl lays a hand on johnny before the princess moves to hover over him in vr, but that doesn't matter to johnny. though, let's not forget there's definitely some shit the writers got s&p notes on telling them to tone things down on that subject so.
