The gray-haired girl breathed a sigh of relief as she stepped on the floor of the entrance to her house, closed the door and leaned against it before closing her eyes. A few seconds later she heard footsteps approaching her, she immediately knew that it was Jaehee due to her short but quick steps. She opened her eyes to feel the woman taking her purse and jacket from her hand.
"Welcome home, Dara" The housekeeper gave her a sweet smile that answered by the girl's yawn. Jaehee laughed taking her arm "Come on, I've already made you dinner, eat it and then you can go to sleep" She led her to the kitchen where a plate of lasagna was waiting for her.
Red let out a moan of satisfaction at seeing the food, turned to see the woman "I have not eaten lasagna for a long time”.
"I know, lately you only eat junk food and I wanted you to eat something homemade." She left her coat and purse on the stool next to the one Dara had sat on. She pulled out a bottle of cold water and filled her glass while Dara devoured the lasagna. She smiled watching her fill her stomach with a meal that would not harm her body, her worry for her cholesterol had been reduced a bit. Jaehee really was like a mother to Dara, can you tell right?
The owner of the house pressed the button on her phone and it lit up showing the time, frowned looking at the white-haired woman "It's too late, what are you doing here yet?".
“I wanted to make sure you were home early and that you ate your dinner, but now that my work is done I can go home” She nodded and left the kitchen, Rae following her immediately. They both came to the living room where Jaehee took her overcoat in one of the armchairs of the sofa and then Dara accompanied her to the door. "By the way, Mino arrived about nine hours ago and told me he wanted to talk to you. He's up in your room”.
"Okay, now I'll go up” She opened the door, looking from side to side to make sure Johnny didn’t run away but the cat was not around. She watched as the old woman fastened her coat and hung her purse from her forearm “Have he had dinner?”.
“Oh, yes” She laughed with a shake of her head" She ate two plates, it seems that he liked my lasagna”.
“All your food is fantastic, Jaehee” The woman of white hair hugged her with a shake of her head, a humble and somewhat shameful smile hung on her face from the recent compliment.
“I left you food in the fridge, with that you will survive the whole weekend” She pulled away from her, opened her eyes giving a funny look to her face for which Dara laughed “I hope".
"Do not worry, we'll manage”.
"Take care, honey” Finally she went out the door. At the entrance to the house you could see the open door where Heonwoo, one of the chofers, patiently waited for the old lady next to the car in which both would go home. Dara waved at him, receiving a bow from the boy.
"See you on Monday” She watched as the housekeeper walked through the yard to reach Heonwoo and the car before closing the door. She smiled slightly before returning to the kitchen where she finished her dinner while watching a random movie on netflix from her phone. After putting everything she had soiled in the dishwasher and grabbing her bag and coat, she climbed the stairs until she reached her shared room. She frowned at not seeing Mino nearby, she left her belongings on the bed.
"Meow" She turned to see Johnny sitting in the dressing room door, crouched and the animal quickly approached her. She stroked the point between her ears receiving a purr from her.
She smiled before taking her in her arms and getting up "Where is dad, J?" In response she received another meow so her smile became wider. She left Johnny on the bed and sat on it to take off her shoes, Johnny was rubbing against her back to pay attention to her.
"Hey" Mino's voice made her lift her head and take her eyes off the golden cat. He was there, leaning against the frame of the wall watching his queen play with his princess.
"Hi" She smiled pulling her hand out of Johnny's head, this one, seeing that she no longer had the girl's attention left the room. Song approached his girl, placed his hands on her neck with both thumbs to the edge of her jaw, bent down and put their lips together in a short kiss.
"You must be tired, how was your day?" The gray-haired woman smiled feeling her heart melting at the sweetness of her boyfriend. His thumbs moving in circles in her jaw made her skin stand on end.
"It was good, something boring but the album is taking shape" She shrugged following his body with her eyes. Mino took a seat on the bed next to her. She took her hand to his hair —which had become light brown again— and began to play with a lock of hair "And yours? Jaehee told me that you arrived early and that you wanted to tell me something”.
“Yes, come early because the album is almost finished, just missing a couple of tweaks in a song and it will be ready” He enjoyed the caresses that had descended from his hair to the back of his neck, where the pale fingers had begun to play with the hair that grew up there, an action that seemed to have become a habit.
"And what did you want to tell me?" She raised an eyebrow waiting for his response but he denied before getting up, extended his hand towards her.
"I'll tell you tomorrow, there's no hurry" He started to walk, forcing her to walk with him, he went to the bathroom but stopped at the door of it. He turned to see her and held up a finger "Wait a minute here, okay?".
"Okay" Although it was an answer it sounded more like a question. She laughed slightly, feeling confused "But why don’t you want me to go to the bathroom?".
"I have prepared a bath with candles and roses and those things, I want to see if everything is presentable. Can you do me the favor of being patient and waiting for a moment, please?” He asked with a nervous smile.
Even though she nodded, Red's brain took at least ten minutes to process the information because she was not used to these things. She had spent three years single since her last and only relationship so she didn’t know how to react to some things, for example to this. She bit her lower lip thinking about how different her relationship with Mino was from the one she had with Jiyong.
Her relationship with Jiyong was not approved by most of her loved ones until they had been dating for more than a year while with Mino it was the opposite, her siblings adored him, her friends got along with him —mostly because more than half they were also friends of Mino— and even, thanks to a report from Daniel, her parents liked him too.
Her relationship with Jiyong was more exaggerated and more elaborate than the one she has with Mino, when Jiyong asked her to marry in a peculiar way and with a big ring —What to expect if it was G Dragon?— while with Mino it is all simpler, just asked her telling her how much he loved her and wanted to be with her the rest of his life, just that, he hasn’t even given her a ring yet.
And there were still many things that differentiated them even though they physically seemed a lot.
Jiyong was all show and elaboration while Mino was simplicity and comfort.
And Red had liked the little details that Mino had with her, such as asking her about her day, worrying about whether she had eaten or making small surprises of which only the two of them were witnesses.
The sound of the door opening caught her attention, waking her from her thoughts. She looked at the boy who smiled at him, somewhat shy apparently because he had half a body hidden behind the door.
"Everything is in order, come in” The green eyed came in, pressing her lips together, feeling the emotion grow in her stomach. She could swear that at the same time that her mouth opened in surprise gesture her heart stopped beating.
The luxurious, large bathroom was filled with huge bouquets of red roses, some petals were scattered on the floor and many candles gave atmosphere to the room. The large white tub was filled with sparkling water decorated with rose petals as well. She turned to see her boyfriend, still with her hands covering her mouth, and threw herself into his arms.
Song smiled trapping her "Do you like it?".
“If I like it? I love it!” She pulled away from him, showing her big smile, she looked like a little girl in a candy store. She joined their lips in a loving kiss, slow and deep "Thank you very much".
"You don’t have to thank me, for you I would do anything" He kiss her forehead before letting go of her waist and turning around but Dara grabbed his arm, preventing him from leaving.
"Stay" She said "Please".
"But you must be tired and I just bother you—“ He interrupted himself as he watched her fingers go to the buttons of the blouse she wore, revealing her lace bra. He raised both eyebrows as much as he could trying to send her a warning look “I'm not going to have sex with you, I know you're tired."
"Should I get naked or do you want me to get in the bathtub dressed?" She spoke in a tone of obviousness making him roll his eyes.
He helped her take off her clothes and then take off his own. First he entered the bathtub and then she, sitting between his legs and with her back resting on his chest.
Dara felt him move to the right, frowned at the movement so she turned her head to see him with a bottle of champagne already open and two glasses, looked at him amused "You had everything planned!".
"Actually, I knew you were going to tell me to stay" He shrugged, holding out a glass and then filling his and leaving the bottle on a small table he had placed next to the tub.
She smiled returning to look forward, marveling at the lights of the city. In one of the walls of the bathroom, which was in front of the bathtub specifically, there was a large window that showed the distant city of Seoul. Four months ago —two more weeks and it will be five months— that they had moved together to a mansion on the outskirts of Seoul, in a specific neighborhood for celebrities and people with money, something similar to Calabasas but in Korea. And, although it had cost them, Dara did not regret having left her house in Gangnam and neither did Mino regret having left Winner's dorm.
She drank from her champagne, letting out a moan of approval as it felt cold and bubbling on her tongue. She felt Mino laugh, when her glass was almost half of she handed it to the boy so that he left it on the table and leaned better on his chest closing hee eyes to enjoy it better, thanks to the salts that he had put in the water —no idea of whic— she felt extremely relaxed.
They spent a couple of minutes there, enjoying the company of each other and the tranquility of their home until Mino smiled nervously feeling a knot in his stomach. He seized a box from the table, hidden behind a bouquet and a couple of candles.
After releasing all the air he was holding he kissed the girl's shoulder “Can you open your eyes for a moment?" He murmured against her shoulder.
"Didn’t you say you were not going to have sex with me?" She whispered in mockery making him to roll his eyes again, pushed her slightly earning a screech from her. The water almost comes out of the bathtub due to the sudden movement "Mimi!".
"Come on, open them" He wanted to laugh at the situation but he was too nervous to do it. He placed the box in front of her and waited for her to say something, since being behind her he couldn’t see when she would open her eyes or the face she would put on.
He heard her gasp of surprise that told him that she had already opened her eyes and that she had seen the ring. He bit his lip playing with the piercing that lay beneath it, waiting nervously for some response.
"Do you want to marry me?" He whispered impatiently because of the silence on her part.
Red did not respond, just turned her body until she was on top of him, face to face. She stroked his face with a faint smile.
"You've asked me before and I said yes, what's this?".
"I-I wanted it to be something special. The other time it was, yes. But I wanted it to be even more special and I wanted to give you a ring because, I don’tknow, I just wanted to give it to you” He let out a laugh embarrassed by his words, looked up at the ceiling to avoid her gaze “When I thought about asking you, I had always thought about doing it at a concert or with a song or something and with this same ring, with me on my knees and you crying of happiness “He returned his gaze to her green eyes, he smiled, brushing the hair away from her face “I just wanted to make it special”.
"Everything you do is special, Mino." She leaned in to kiss his lips but he stopped her making her frown “What?".
"So, that's a yes?" She laughed at his question and nodded making him let out a happy exclamation making him look like a small child, wiped his left hand with a towel and pulled the ring out of the box while Dara was watching him. She looked with a smile on her face, thinking that maybe this was the best decision she had made in her life.
He placed the ring on her ring finger, careful not to fall into the water, his hands still shivered but now it was for emotion and happiness. When he released her finger Dara kissed him trying to convey everything she was feeling for him at that moment.
"I love you” She whispered when they separated.
Mino joined their foreheads and smiled again "I love you too".
