The moment I was introduced to this song I went absolutely off the walls. The lyrics and the sound mixing so perfectly describe how Raf would act at this point of the story— desperately clinging onto his last grain of sanity, teasing Theo for simultaneously losing xir own.

There, within an inch, you cannot twitch- you are poised… // How can I rattle your cage, boy? How can I rattle your cage? // when the panic sets in, was it too late? WILL YOU GO MAD? // how can I rattle your cage, boy? How can I rattle your cage?

The tailor is on xir last legs, but he’s not going to make that clear if he can help it. Raf wants nothing more than to drive that last bit out of him- by threatening, toying, and just plain annoying xem.

Oh, you are so close! Will you lose hope? Or go insane? // losing your marbles is FUN, BOY! How can I rattle your cage?

Raf is fully aware he’s losing it as well— Theo lasting this long (10 days, as opposed to the 2 or 3 he’d expected) is testing his own resolve— but ultimately, he finds it an almost enjoyable experience. Even as Theo ceases to respond.
