This incredible broad climbed Kilimanjaro with me, and then she spent three months at #rafikimwema. Now she's home, and we have so much to talk about. So, so, much.

My very first volunteers that I have walked through the process are landing in Kenya today. Working out what they want to do at #rafikimwema, how they want to participate in the homes, and even where they want to go on safari as a side trip has been fulfilling and exciting. I know they're going to have their hearts exploded by love bombs when they meet these remarkable kids. @rafikicastle 💕💕

I'm undertaking my first job for @rafikicastle and organising the volunteers who are arriving at Queen's Castle at the end of the month. I cant lie, it's making me jealous and miss these little ones like hell. If you ever fancy a fulfilling and life changing adventure, I can't recommend volunteering for #rafikimwema more highly.

Last night I saw the founders/directors of @rafikicastle present a beautiful presentation about their work. They showed a video of one of their boys who had lived on the street from five to 15 years old because the street was less horrific than his home life. He spoke of fossicking in sewage for food, of being brutalised, and also of being brutal to survive on the crazy streets in his town. This child is covered in scars, burns, knife wounds on his body, but the real scars are inside. In this video, shown only with his complete permission, we saw therapist, Anne-Marie, helping to heal this child's pain. She told him strong people can still cry and feel these feelings. He is still warrior even with tears, and fears and sorrow. I thought climbing Kilimanjaro was the end of the real work I would do for these kids, but last night I realised it's actually the beginning. #if you can sponsor a boy for $50 a month, do it. You are significantly changed by one person's life in this crazy fucking world. If that is out of your reach, you can support the outreach team for $5 a month so they can continue to educate communities and check on kids who may have returned to their people. The moment @rafikicastle told @celestebarber's hot husband he has to take his shirt off at the #rafikimwema dinner in Sydney. Listening to passionate people talking about the therapeutic safe-house that has that has cracked my heart wide open.
