I headcanon that Skid and Pump are on completely different ends of the spectrum when it comes to like. gender certainty

What I mean is that I see Skid as having known he's a trans guy since he was very young and socially transitioned not long after realising, and he's never had to question it because it's so strong and sure in his head

...And Pump has absolutely no idea what label to go with cause he doesn't even have a vision of what she thinks he should look like in their head, whenever someone asks for their pronouns he just leans down with her head in their hands and whines "I don't fucking knowwwww man"

(imagine them as teens here. Yaknow cause of the cursing that I don't wanna take out cause I think it's funny)

they're cuddling hanging out one day and Skid's on his phone and shows the definition of genderfluid to Pump that he randomly found while scrolling and they're like "OH THAT'S WHAT THIS SHIT IS"

Don't imagine Skid subconsciously worrying that Pump only likes to be around him so much because his parents aren't around, and thinking he may be unintentionally using him to cope with it, and he secretly dreads them coming back because he doesn't want to face the idea of Pump realising he doesn't care as much about him as he thinks he does (which he feels guilty for), but then they do come back and Pump is just as enthusiastic to be with him as always

i like to imagine skidad is represented as a diamond (already canon basically) but skid is represented as a star because though they looks similar, they are still completely different
