again there is no lore reason to believe that shaman were forced alive into jars after being whipped and tortured. there's reason to believe someone was whipped at the hut and there's a hornsent corpse there.

there's lots and lots of reasons to believe that shaman were running the jarring and were created by the process. the game tells us this and everyone goes no, it's a secret genocide. you filled that in and to be fair the structure for you to do so is there. i continue to sincerely not think it's correct.

i think the undertaker reflects this journey of those who processed death and did hexing arts and gained their power through darkness can also convert to the light and gold. i don't see that as redemptive but others do. its christian conversion.

i have always thought that marika did this, converting from death kingdom to light and that she defers the night because she had been slogging through the corpses of the previous night.

i think that is fucking adequate motivation without saying "the hornsent brought it on themselves" which is not what colonized people do.
