#Repost @colvinology Redemption Road, a 10.5% rocky road inspired imperial stout from Arclight (@arclightbrewing), Foreign Exchange (@foreignexchangebrewing), Monochrome (@monochromebrew), and Show Off (@showoffbrewing) with cacao nibs, toasted walnuts, and vanilla, and the Master Grade Nu Gundam Ver Ka . Aroma on this one does what it says on the tin. I'm getting hits of milk chocolate, vanilla beans, and chopped walnuts. The sip however, is on another level entirely. Those relatively indistinct chocolate aromas from the nose become a beautiful bouquet of milk and dark chocolate, with notes of creamy hot cocoa, vanilla beans, and toasted walnuts. There's also a bit of detectable lactose here that just makes this stout scream "ice cream." The finish is creamy and sweet, with just the slightest hint of lingering dark chocolate and absolutely no booze. This is incredibly enjoyable, and tastes like a big glass full of melted ice cream, or at least the best chocolate milk you've ever had. I'm only familiar with one of the collaborating breweries, but I will say that this serves as a damn good first impression of the other 3. Stout Season remains undefeated.
