the halls of pyke are gloomy & grey, slate rain landing hard against the stone & running down the walls into the roaring sea below. shadows move at the corners of asha’s field of vision, moving with too much form to be ghosts. it sets her nerves on edge -- the dead cannot touch you, but the living very much can. to feel so ill-at-ease within her own castle is an unfamiliar sensation for asha. since she was born, this place had been her home. but with her father gone & his murderer in his place, asha does not feel safe within the walls she knows so well. if euron perceived her as being in the way, he would not hesitate to remove her, of that much she is certain.
she looks over her shoulder as she rounds the corner, certain that time that she could see the outline of someone following her. but instead, she runs directly into someone else wandering the halls. the collision is quick but forceful, & asha instinctively reaches out to steady the person she has crashed into, her attentions pulled away from whatever it may be lurking behind her. ❝ my apologies, i didn’t see -- ❞ her voice breaks as she recognizes the woman in front of her -- something flowers, the bastard girl that euron had brought with him from the reach. she has seen her clinging to euron’s arm or sprawled across his lap at their feasts. ❝ what are you doing here ??? ❞ she asks, her tone as chilly as the drafty halls.
