After the Uganda–Tanzania War, Tanzanian troops discovered Bloch's body in 1979 in a sugar plantation around 20 miles (32 km) from Kampala, near the Jinja Road. Visual identification was impossible because her face was badly burned, but the corpse showed signs of a leg ulcer. A pathologist working with the Israel Defense Forces formally identified Bloch from the remains. Her remains were returned to her son in Israel, where she was given an Israeli state funeral. She was buried in Jerusalem's Har HaMenuchot Cemetery. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with his wife Sara, and their children - Yair and Avner, held a small memorial ceremony (due to Coronavirus restrictions), for Yoni Netanyahu, the brother of Prime Minister Netanyahu, who passed away 44 years ago.Yoni Netanyahu was a real hero who fell during Entebbe Operation after he rescued the lives of 105 Jewish and Israeli hostages held in Uganda by PFLP terrorists. Today, we remember and honor the memory of Yoni Netanyahu. May his memory continue to be a blessing.
