When have I ever let you down?
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is how... quiet it was." - Battlefront II 501st Journal, narr. Temuera Morrison.
Rami is straight up not having a good time
Time and the State Of Calendars during the Clone Wars
The Galaxy uses the Galactic Standard Calendar, alongside any local planetary calendars. GSC dates are standardised to the dd.mm.yyyyy format. GSC is commonly added as a suffix or prefix to dates. Times are standardised to the hr:min:sec format.
Coruscant/Galactic Standard Time: 24 hour clock used as a set reference point to unify timekeeping.
Based on the rotation of Coruscant
CST +0:00 time zone refers to the time zone occupied by the longitudinal slice of the planet where the Senate Dome is located.
when other planets, or ships, reference CST, CST +0:00 time is used.
Calendar Divisions:
Galactic Standard Days: 24 Standard Hours (60 min. each)
Galactic Standard Weeks: 5 Standard Days
Galactic Standard Months: 7 Standard Weeks
Galactic Standard Years: 10 Standard Months plus 3 holiday weeks, 3 holidays.
Holidays: across the Republic, implementation of the Republic's holidays varies according to the norms of the individual cultures of each planet.
Holiday Weeks: Senate Investiture Week, Foundation Week, and Yearsend Week
- Senate Investiture Week: The Galactic Senate recesses two weeks prior. During Investiture Week, leading up to Investiture Day, Galas and parties are commonly held by political figures and bodies. Outside of the political sphere, it is common for citizens on Coruscant to receive several days off work during Investiture Week. Occurs between months 3 and 4. Investiture Day is a Republic-wide public holiday.
- Foundation Week: the week surrounding the anniversary of the foundation of the Republic. Occurs between months 7 and 8. Foundation Day is a Republic-wide public holiday.
- Yearsend Week: a secularised celebration week for the end of one Standard Year and the beginning of the next, between months 10 and 1. A recent commercial push has popularised the insertion of Life Day, a Wookiee holiday, as a part of this week.
Public Holidays: Midyear, Treaty Day, Reformation Day
- Midyear: Celebrates the midpoint of the current Standard Year. Occurs between month 5 and 6.
- Treaty Day: Celebrates the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant. Occurs between month 2 and 3.
- Reformation Day: Celebrates the anniversary of the Ruusaan Reformation. Occurs between month 9 and 10.
note: some of this is drawn from Legends (the calendar divisions and the concept of Life Day), some from new canon (Investiture Week), and some entirely from my brain (the time system and other holidays).

Things could be worse. But it would take a Lot Of Work to get That Much More Bad.

Companion snippet to the LAATie pin ups from earlier. Specifically, Yirei's (bottom left).
+
There is some sort of commotion and kerfuffle going on by the LAATie nearest the hangar's back wall. It is a commotion and kerfuffle that sounds perfectly like some hapless soul receiving the dressing down of a lifetime from their Wing Commander.
Yirei's interest has been piqued. She sidles towards the source of the tirade. Slowly, now. Don't want to spook the gossip before it's hot.
"What were you thinking!?" laments Wing Commander Ari. "Of all the possible subjects. The word 'professionalism' mean anything to you? How 'bout 'propriety'? Oh, maybe even 'hmm, gotta look her in the eye within the next tenday'?"
Oohoohoo. Yes. This will be excellent. Yirei skitters closer. A stray flight deck tech catches her with a side eye— Sorcha, she thinks?— but he decides plausible deniability allows him to get away with aiding and abetting a sneaking-up. His eyes slide over and around where Yirei stands. She tips him a thumbs up.
Ari's still going as Yirei rounds the LAATie's front.
"—And I swear, storms help me, if General Meyadri sees this you're gonna wish— Force Above Sea Below Sir What The Fu— I mean. Officer on deck!",
Yirei returns his frantic salute without thought. She's too busy staring at the 2D, full colour mural recreation of her, her tits (clothed, barely) and her arse (clothed, fully) splashed across the side of the LAATie. It was not, by her recollection, there twelve hours ago.
It's fantastic. She needs Rami to see it immediately.
When she spins around, Ari has fixed the apparent artists with an absolutely withering stare. In the ten seconds it takes for her to formulate a sentence, he doesn't blink once. Dawn and Heath make a valiant effort at aiming their gazes at anything that is not Yirei.
"I think mine are bigger," she says, indicating the murals', ah. Assets. "Um. Proportionally. Nice use of colour."
Ari despairs at her without sound. Heath appears struck by terror. Dawn is experiencing what seems to be five different kinds of regret over his commanding officer's breasts.
Yirei is fucking delighted. This is the best thing that's ever happened aboard a Venator.
"Can I..." she indicates the mural and mimes taking a holo. Ari slowly shakes his head, but the resignation in his eyes is palpable. Heath and Dawn nod, just as slowly. Sorry, Ari— outvoted. "Thanks."
The holo is sent to the Easy Command chat (the unofficial one, anyway), then the Bastard Librarians And Yirei Too I Guess chat, and finally her direct message line to Rami marked priority, in case he ignores the command chat. He's gotta see it.
"Sir," says Ari. "I believe these troopers have something to say to you." He's— wow, that glare is fierce— practically scruffed Heath and Dawn both. Their current broadcasting emotion appears to have settled into "shamefaced".
Yirei shifts into parade rest while Heath tries and fails to begin any sort of phrase. Dawn keeps accidentally making eye contact with Yirei's tits and looking anywhere else quite desperately. Ari shakes them both just a little.
"Sir-sorry-we-painted-you-sir-and-about-the-uuuuh- um-anatomical-inaccuracy-and-that," Dawn blurts, somehow all in one word. Yirei bites back a giggle.
"Soldier," she says, because she is demonstrably a bit of a bastard, "my eyes are up here." Dawn goes red, and Ari drops them both to slap hands over his eyes. Because Ari well knows her bastardly proclivities, and enjoys them greatly when they are aimed elsewhere, he must suffer them just a little. For fun.
"I'm pretty sure the regs don't state anything about what can and can't be painted on a LAATie," Heath attempts, optimistically. Ari rounds on him with murder in his eyes and breath drawn to resume his earlier tirade. Yirei must save everyone's ears. It's her duty as a Jedi.
"Well, that's not quite it," she offers, mildly, absently scrolling through her comm notifications. Ari gestures at her, sweeping. Heath's face falls. And here begins the exercise in comedic timing: "they do prohibit foul language."
Masterful, if Yirei says so herself. Ari's righteous second wind shrivels up with an audible whistle. Mere nanoseconds after, realisation dawns (ha) on Dawn's face, and he elbows Heath.
"So, sir," Dawn says. "What with the phrasing up there being perfectly suitable for Stage Twos."
"Seems perfectly in line with regs to me," Yirei shrugs.
Ari attempts to blow her up with his mind. The artists now have not only implicit approval of their commanding officer, but the clear approval of the subject of the mural. Well, tough— Yirei would hate to see this work of high art painted over.
A notification interrupts her thoughts. LMAOOO, writes Bes, who Yirei is now going to suggest as the next muse for these two. Pretty sure they drew your tits too small tho lol.
It takes perhaps five seconds for the rest of the chat to digitally shred her.
My SWTOR characters of the story runs I have started so far...
Tanni Meriadri: Jedi Consular (Shadow). Playing her as The Ideal Jedi. She's a little sanctimonious, but she really does want to help. The Will of The Force will be listened to, whether you like it or not. Internally, she despairs over the state of the galaxy- the idiots people put in charge!!
Vaara Hadena Lok: Bounty Hunter, Champion of the Great Hunt, recently made clan to the Mand'alor, has acquired a child and is desperately attempting to grow some morals. She's succeeding. Kind of. Her sense of honour is... A little skewed, but it's Strong. She'd much rather go through a problem than around it. Even more so if the problem likes to act like a big shot.
Aneei Meriadri: Havoc Squad Lieutenant, fresh out of the Academy. She does NOT know what's going on or why they keep promoting her, but by God she will do her duty to the People of the Republic. She does not have time for Senate Bullshit. She is prone to ignoring unsavoury orders. Nobody's sure how she's survived making as many enemies as she has. It's been a WEEK. Tanni's younger sister- she grew up hearing about her Big Sister the Jedi.
Qyzen. Off of the Noetikon table please.
