Today we had the pleasure of interviewing fellow blogger and RoR enthusiast, Stephanie Morillo. Stephanie is a self-pronounced “noob” to RoR and through her blog, RUBY-WAN KENOOBIE, brings a unique, humorous approach to learning RoR. Towards the beginning, her blog focused on simple Ruby concepts, and gradually has turned into her direct experiences while developing her RoR knowledge. Her goal is to dissect RoR and leave out some of the technical jargon that many newcomers to RoR are intimidated by. Her blog has a positive way of thinking turning “frustration into humor,” and changing the constant ups and downs many programmers deal with daily into something relatable and entertaining. Since first learning Ruby and then learning Rails, she has become a TA for a RoR class. Apparently it’s true when they say teaching is the best way to learn. Thank you again Stephanie, and we look forward to continuing to follow your blog!

Meet Barry Jones: an experienced business owner, project manager, and web application developer. Barry owns and founded the company called Brightball, and through RoR has achieved a successful company with a bright future. When asked about how RoR worked for him, Barry said, “From a developer’s standpoint, Ruby is fantastic. When I got into Ruby, one of the things that blew me away was the development work flow. If there is anything that can be done to make your life as a Ruby developer easier, someone within the RoR community has already done it. Or if there is something you regularly have to do more than once, somebody has built a way to keep you from having to do that.” With so much success with Ruby and a strong community background, it is safe to say Barry will continue working with RoR in the future.
