Ten people were killed in Okara, Punjab, as a result of severe rain and thunderstorms

Ten people died from torrential rains, thunderstorms and strong winds reported from Okara in Punjab on Monday evening.

Eight families, including four women and four children, died when the roof of their house in Tariqabad collapsed during heavy rains. Two others died in the wind and rain.

Rescue sources said Sohail, 40, and Ahmad Ali, 50, were killed when a tree fell in a market in Kachehri, Okara and a wall in Haveli Laha.

It also rained in Sheikhupura, Pakpatan, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Manawala and Chunian. There were also power outages in some areas for at least 18 hours.
