update. finished the quest. how the FUCK am i supposed to process any of that

i simultaneously enjoyed the quest an extreme amount and also did not like it. it’s a very weird feeling.
on one hand, i am thoroughly pleased with the amount of interactions we got between dottore and pantalone. all their exchanges were amazing and the animated cutscene involving the two of them made me sick (affectionate).
on the other hand, dottore’s ‘death’ felt extremely rushed to me, and i’m choosing to cope and believe that means he’s not gone for good. they talked too much about souls for it not to be brought up at a later date. they established so much of pantalone and dottore’s relationship NOT to do something with it

i know, in a way, dottore could find this outcome satisfactory. fate has always been one of his greatest opponents, and the burning of irminsul is in a sense, a victory. although it seems like he’s still no match for fate, because the very same segments he used to push the laws of teyvat kept him restricted by it ..
after all, he was only human, as pantalone pointed out. i think dottore’s greatest weakness was that he was TOO human. that sounds a little backwards, but i like to think the fact the elixir of immortality did not work on him kind of represents that humanity he could never truly seperate himself from.
fuck. i hqve a lot of thoughts. but i also just stayed up all night to do that quest and i have work in 2 hours. i will have to organize my thoughts later
