Stuck With Her // Raina & Monroe
Daisy and Raina had become close. Essentially sisters after everything they’d been through which was exactly why Daisy couldn’t for the life of her understand why Raina was doing this. They had talked about Raina adopting a child and how Daisy could help make sure the process went smoothly, but when Raina told her she decided to adopt a teenager she was skeptical.
Raina though she kept an open mind. She thought she could handle this. She remembered how Daisy must have felt being in the system until she aged out and that was what made her change her mind about adopting younger.
“I’m not going to lie to you, I don’t really have a single clue about this whole parenting thing.” Raina shrugged, “but I’m going to try to do right by her. I mean I’ve seen bad parents and good parents and parents who tried so hard to be good--and hopefully I find some middle ground there.”
Daisy sighed on the other end of the phone. “Well I hope you do too. Being in foster care is... This just hits home alright? If you guys need anything let me know.”
“I know Daisy, and don’t worry. I’ll let you know.”
“I’m serious. You’re stuck with her. There’s no returns. I won’t let you that messes a kid up.”
“I would never, now I’ll call you later I have to go.” Raina said before pausing. After some byes she hung up the call and stopped in front of the house. She took a breath and nodded before she headed out to the door. She had on one of her favorite floral blouses that day and tan slacks, it was a special day. She rang the door bell.
