Mc who doesn't rely on the troupes for anything, not even going to them for help when people are hurting them, going as far as hiding any injuries from them.
Therefore, one night after the circus closed down and everyone is getting ready to turn in for the night, they all hear a scream, "Someone! Help me!" A desperate, terrified scream that sends awful chills down your body.
At first, they don't recognize the voice but do pause at feeling familiarity. Then hear, "Pierrot! Harlequin! Anyone! Help Me!" Now they know who is screaming.
Ticket Taker is the first at the scene, seeing Mc surrounded by five men. He can see Mc's feet are bleeding, their pajamas ripped at some parts, one of their arms hanging from the socket, and cuts and bruises under the ripped fabric. He speaks politely, questioning the reason behind such behavior. The men tell him to fuck off and mind his business.
Pierrot and Harlequin are next to show, Ticket Taker raising his arm slightly to quietly tell them to stay back. Harlequin says a few mocking words, his anger boiling through his gritted teeth. One of the men taunt them, pulling Mc up by the hair and makes crude gestures. Ticket Taker had to hold the two back.
Jester is next, voicing his disappointment in humans, how violent and disgusting they are even to their own kind. "Hm. Since there's five of you, why don't we choose which we want to rip apart? Doctor-" Doctor is the last to show, standing behind Jester and Ticket Taker with towering intimidation- "you make the first choice."
Mc is thrown to the ground, already hearing the screams and the tearing of flesh. They crawl away and hide around the corner, covering their ears to not listen. When it gets quiet, they jump at something touching their shoulder and whip towards Pierrot. He calms them down and reassures they're safe now. Harlequin, Doctor, Ticket Taker, and lastly Jester appear from behind the corner.
Mc looks at them and whispers, "Thank you... And sorry for troubling..." Then pass out.
Pierrot catches them and take them in his arms, standing up as Harlequin repeats what they said. "Sorry for troubling? What are they saying? They can't seriously be apologizing for asking us for help?!"
"Harlequin-"
"They screamed out for us! They ran to us! They looked to us for help and they just say sorry for relying on us!"
Doctor grabs his shoulders. "We can discuss once they wake up. Right now, I need to treat them." He approaches Pierrot and Pierrot carefully hands them over to him. "Someone needs to go to their apartment and pack up some of their belongings. They need clothes." Then he leaves.
"And someone needs to clean this mess on the street. It's dangerously close to the circus."
"I could-"
"Pierrot and I will go to their apartment. You and Harlequin take care of the mess."
Jester drags Harlequin off to get the supplies for the cleanup while Pierrot and Ticket Taker witnesses the crime scene. The balcony door is shattered, droplets of blood where Mc had run on them, but the front door has no damage or seem it was unlocked from the outside.
(Three on the balcony and two waiting at the front door. When Mc ran from their bedroom and towards the front door, unlocking it to escape just to find those waiting for them)
A bag is packed and handled the scene to bring no suspicion towards the apartment. They return to the circus and moves Mc to Pierrot's room like he requested. He watches over them, not daring touch them as he lies next to them.
Their scream, how desperate and terrified it was. They called out for him in such a voice. He hates it. He hates their life was in danger and had to scream out for him in such a way. What would had happened if he didn't hear them?
