Interim COVID Membership FAQ
To answer questions related to our COVID-19 temporary membership options - SEE COVID MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS HERE.
With all kinds of new protocols for COVID-19 (read ours here: www.rncty.ca/covid19) we’ve not only incurred a lot of additional costs, but it’s created a much higher demand for space. Our first priority is to take care of our existing members, who continued to pay & support us during our COVID-19 closure, until we’re back up and running at (closer to) full capacity.
In the interim we will be offering short term COVID-19 membership options for NEW AND NON MONTHLY members looking to get in for some workouts - this options are also open to current members if it’s more viable for them during this months re-opening phases - and in case there is another shutdown.
Existing Monthly Member Options
Any athlete who had an existing monthly membership put on hold during COVID (and/or took advantage of our [RAAH] and other membership options) will be able to re-activate their your membership - just email [email protected] or your coach. If you do not yet see the value in your previous unlimited membership (while we move through our phases of re-opening), you’re welcome to take advantage of the COVID-19 options below in the interim as well!
Existing Punch Card Member Options
As mentioned above - our first priority is to take care of all of those who supported us through our closure. We will re-activate ALL previously purchased punch card memberships & extend all expiry dates once we are in our final phases and offering 5+ workouts / classes per week. Until then - please contact us if you’d like to take advantage of one of the interim COVID options.
Why have other gyms jumped right back into full schedules?
When COVID-19 first started, and Raincity Athletics was one of the first gyms to close it’s doors, and we were quick to offer custom membership options to all of our members ranging from $50 - $150 OR leaving their membership as is to allow them to maintain the highest level of fitness (and support) that they could afford. Many of these other gyms (not all) did not - and had their members all continue to pay full monthly memberships. So part of the reason we require a ‘phased’ recovery is financially managing our growth of classes & offerings.
Another reason for this is taking your safety into consideration when it comes to training - Coach Liz Carrier has done an extensive explanation of these you can see @ www.rncty.ca/blog
Why Sport Access / Private Training / Etc - Why not more group classes?
Another thing we do differently at Raincity is we offer a TON of other membership options. We have almost 100 athletes on some variation of individualized programming from our coaches, on top of that we offered multiple levels of programs (like our Strength and Conditioning and Barbell Club) which are not our focus - but are something we’re keeping in mind as we rebuild our schedule under new procedures and requirements.
Email [email protected] directly with any questions, comments, or feedback - and we’ll continue to update this post.
