this did not go as planned, that’s for sure. on the verge of passing out, pretty much entirely unaware of where you are. you may have gone slightly overboard, but in your defence you’re going through a lot right now. “i’m literally always on something, my dude.” words are slurred out far too calmly for the situation. “i have literally no idea when i was last sober.”

“shit,”  the  word  is  mixed  with  a  startled  little  chuckle  as  rachel  stops  in  her  path  through  the  forest,  fingers  flying  to  the  strap  of  her  backpack,  “i  didn’t  know  anyone  else  even  came  out  this  way.”  there’s  a  nice  little  clearing  she  has  become  kind  of  fond  of  lately.  no  one  else  around  seems  to  really  know  about  it,  and  sometimes  just  being  somewhere  no  one  else  knows  is  nice.  somewhere  without  eyes.  seems  that’s  been  delayed  for  now.  “it’s  pretty  far  to  town,  yeah?  you  out  here  for  the  AMBIANCE  too?”

the words hit hard, make you pause, make you think. she isn’t wrong, of course she isn’t, but you just never expected to actually have anyone call you out on it. it leaves you speechless, unsure how to reply without feeling like you’re making yourself feel like a victim. “i mean,” words paired with a slight laugh, as if making light of the situation would make things better. “i don’t.. i don’t think so. everyone loves me.”
