I don't have a short caption to go along with this artwork. I don't think I could come up with something fitting that also expresses everything I want to say, so I'm going to ramble instead.

hello there, we are the raindrops system, aka the rainstorm system! a nerdy bunch of queers just trying to get by. we like fnaf, cartoons, art, biology, evolution, and more :3
no dni; we will just block if we're ever uncomfortable.
we welcome asks, but please do not send vent asks. here is a link to our boundaries about system-related asks.
did-research.org is a good resource if you don't know what DID is or if you want to learn more.

just got reminded of these google forms I would make as a teen when I was on twitter where people would ask me questions about DID (e.g. "is it possible to be a system without having PTSD?") like why are you asking a teenager on the Internet this ???
I would also get questions that were more about my experiences as a system and I enjoyed those. it's just the, like, technical or scientific questions that irk me nowadays. how am I supposed to know? I don't study human brains
As a system, "This Is What It Sounds Like" from KPop Demon Hunters really touched me. I got chills after like every line when listening to it for the first time. I actually started crying, too. I want to point out the parts that stuck out to me and talk about it.
We broke into a million pieces and we can't go back But now we're seeing all the beauty in the broken glass
That is such a common allegory for DID, broken glass, and I immediately made the connection. These lyrics are so beautiful to me. To me, it means seeing the beauty in my alters. We're not all perfect, obviously. We're hurt. We're traumatized. Some of us handle our emotions better than others. But that doesn't make us tainted or wrong. We're just trying to survive. And we are beautiful even after all of it, and we can glow.
The scars are part of me, darkness and harmony
The scars are part of me. My trauma is part of me. My hurt is part of me. But that doesn't mean I will never be anything more than the pain. Yes, there is anguish, but there is also joy. We found people who care for us, people who will stay by our side even through really tough shit, and we will continue to find those people I hope. Darkness and harmony makes me think of our different alters. We have such strong fury inside of us because of what has happened to us, and sometimes that gets really ugly. There are vindictive parts. There are hurting parts. But we are also learning—slowly, messily, with bumps and hitches—to heal. Every day, I get to see my cohost Will smile in headspace, and that is wonderful. I love seeing him glow. And she loves seeing me glow too. Not all our altere get along, but that doesn't have to mean chaos. Our harmony is not perfect, but it's not non-existent.
I just really love this song. Songs about coming up out of the ashes that your trauma left behind, having the courage to openly share that pain and expose your vulnerability and true self... it just makes me feel hope. Hope that maybe someday I won't have to just pretend to be one orderly singular consciousness in this body. That maybe I won't always have to cover up the colors stuck inside my head.
You said, "baby, no attachment,"

in her free time, she collects rocks, gems, geodes, etc.
she has social anxiety
her coat is a dark maroon color
her mane and tail are a reddish pink with dark brown streaks

her favorite place to shop is Canterlot Carousel, Rarity's boutique in Canterlot
she's not very good at magic so she tries to avoid using her horn
her coat is a brilliant scarlet (red-orange)

evolution and natural selection are not the same thing!!
natural selection is one of the mechanisms of evolution. the terms are not synonymous. some other ways evolution can occur is by genetic drift, mutations, or gene flow.
evolution is any change in the heritable traits of a population over multiple generations. it doesn't have an end goal. there is no perfect organism who is "more evolved" than anything else (yes, including humans). "survival of the fittest" is not a very useful phrase. Darwin got some things right but he also got things wrong. we've moved past his time and learned much more than what he knew, let's get with the program.
evolution is so bloody cool! i love learning about it and learning new things and i love explaining what i know to people and crossing my fingers hoping my explanations make sense! i bloody love biology, that's why its my major! yes, it is definitely a difficult subject to study, but it's worth it! you don't have to be a science-y person to understand and appreciate evolution and it's never too late to learn more.
now here is where i'll recommend some resources:
the Amoeba Sisters have an overview of evolution that may be helpful, especially since i didn't go through what all the mechanisms of it are, I just said what they're called. i use these videos a lot when I need to brush up on something or when my professors explained it in a confusing way. the videos don't go super in-depth; they are just there to explain the basics, and i believe the descriptions usually have recommendations for further reading on the subject(s).
Forrest Valkai has a series on his YouTube channel titled The Light of Evolution and he does a wonderful job of explaining these concepts and more. if you're interested, i highly suggest the series and his channel in general!
