Okay! After a couple of days of feeling torn I made a separate @rainfall-translates blog JUST for translations :P This way you folks don't have to blacklist a bunch of stuff if you just want that, and I can stop wringing my hands anxiously about using a blog I made for fandom to talk about fandom lolol. Lost Colors Translated LP update

Proceeding on schedule. I figured out how to get on to the Lelouch path for the Geass route (figured it makes sense to start there?), but also bought the Perfect Guide, which claims to be good for getting the gallery to 100% and should cut down on my "what if there's an extra ending to this route that I can only get by choosing Ougi and Shirley conversations during a waxing gibbous moon?!" anxiety. Basically what I'm gonna do is play through the game a few times to nail down the best path narratively through a given route (what will be most fun for people to watch when they want to see a Lelouch ending? Avoiding random chunks of other paths seems like a good bet), then record it, then release episodes with subtitles attached. Hopefully the default captions will be readable on top of the text boxes....... I expected to get started recording this weekend (and I definitely need to at least make sure the Elgato I bought works before the return window closes), buuuuut I've got to sit the JLPT on Sunday so that's gonna eat a chunk of time. Bonus update: I bought the Kallen and Knight of Round novels, which as I understand it take place between R1 and R2 with additional flashbacks (to Kallen when she was younger maybe?, and to Marianne's time as a Round). Those are gonna be the next big project. Bonus update #2: there was a new Illust Drama shown at the anniversary event, which should be included on the blueray release sometime later this month. If no one beats me to it (which is likely! because the fandom's waking up again), I'll see if I can't fansub that one, too.

Translation for CG:Lost Colors plan

Sooooo what I'm going to do is upload some LPs of the game. There are a lot of ways through the game, and I want to show all the routes and give viewers the best approximation of getting to play the game themselves. Right now I'm thinking maybe the best way to accomplish this would be by doing an LP of each major route (like the Black Knights path with the "major" endings (Lelouch and maybe Kallen)?) and then add other scenes as bonus video(es)...? The game branches a LOT, and there are so many scenes that you would miss when trying to get a specific ending (like the Lelouch ending for the BK path). But there are SO MANY ENDINGS and some scenes would repeat on multiple paths.... I don't want to be too repetitive. So maybe something like.... "Geass Route: Lelouch ending", then "Geass Route: Diethard scenes"? Where they'd be divided by character. So you could get the main plot from the Lelouch-ending-LP, and then fill in the blanks on that path with whichever characters you're most interested in...? idk, maybe I'll do the Lelouch routes first and then ask what else folks want to see......? Maybe something will naturally occur to me.... (There are also SUB ROUTES, like the BK path has a hot springs trip sub route, and so does the Ashford path.) (For those maybe I'll embed links in the video so you can get from BK Video 4 to Hot Springs ending....?)
