[full comment: Hello there! I saw your prompting post on the Digital Devil Saga tag and saw you also like Legacy of Kain. I had to at least leave you drive by love for liking both of those fairly obscure fandoms! Although if anyone can leave a prompt just for fun, then... Janos and Vorador, lighting candles in memory of those lost? I personally see them as having more of a father/son dynamic, but that seems feels inducing while still being neutral enough for it to not get weird too me if you prefer shipping.]
Hope was a weakness that Vorador could ill afford; he had never cared for it as a human, and the passing centuries of his immortality had proven him right to do so.
As he gathered up puddles of melted wax and lit new candles in their place, Vorador thought of the man he lit them for, and cursed himself for not being able to burn Janos’ corpse and be done with this ritual.
Vorador knew Janos would never return, that protecting his sire's remains was a morbid and useless task, but regardless of what he knew, part of him refused to believe it - and even though Vorador knew hope to be a weakness, it still refused to be silenced.
