how to keep your adopted kids from fighting, option 1: catch your paws on fire during some ptsd inducing mafia hits
( @thelastclans )
Tbh I figured Skydream never knew about Rainstream's mate but your headcanon is amazing so I am making it canon
But! Shark actually never knew his kids. He knew they were gonna happen, yes, but he died before they were born unfortunately! And he doesn't exactly know how to enter other's dreams. So he just occasionally wonders about them, and sometimes listens to Lanternglow about them.
aww that's so sweet. Hearing about your family through stories others tell you because you can't see them for yourself is OOOOHHH
I really love the trope where two kids take more after one parent than the other. Rainstream and Skydream, (Rainpaw and Skypaw in this!) Sharkstar's sons! He never got to meet them as they were only born after his death. Skydream, compared to his father, is actually really loved in Oceanclan- He's a super loving sort, like his ma. He has a tiny bit of a temper but he means well, and is really optimistic! Absolute sweetheart. Rainstream, on the other hand- Kind of blends in to the background- But he doesn't mind that. It makes it easier for him to sneak out and go see his mate. (...who, ironically, is from Grottoclan. You know, the clan that Shark accidentally started war with? Yeah, the leaders of Grotto and Ocean after Palestar and Sharkstar died stopped that war real quick. But it's still funny to me.)

BABIES
wheatleap big
it feels so cathartic to draw cats, especially Warrior cats, after so long oh my gosh
tiny infodump on these idiots:
a group of clan-deserting runaways that are much happier living on their own without the restrictions of clan life, all of them are so fucking tired of prophecies and turf wars over rocks
rainstream- former medicine cat to an unnamed clan, timid and quiet by nature; was essentially raised by both her brother and miscellaneous queens in the clan, never having known her parents. Being a medicine cat, she had the unpleasant job of not only being the Star Clan conduit, she also had to deal with much of the aftermath; when given the chance to leave, she hesitantly takes it (not without the guilt of leaving her clan without a medicine cat)
wheatleap- former warrior and brother of rainstream, chatty and friendly, but both protective of his sister and ambitious to a fault; the (admittedly very bad) defacto leader of the group. He was a serviceable warrior and a fantastic hunter, but he felt that clan life on the bottom peg never really suited him; when a prophecy begins to rear its head (again), he convinces his sister and tries to convince a few of his clanmates to leave before all hell breaks loose
jinxcry/echocry- both a former kittypet (the ‘Jinx’ prefix of her name comes from her original kittypet name) and former warrior (Her name was originally changed to jinxcry, but echocry fit much better with clan life) ; joined her now ex-clan on a whim. Despite her name, jinxcry is quiet and a very good listener; it’s one of the things that led to her becoming fast friends with both rainstream (Who enjoys quiet low-maintenance company) and wheatleap (who enjoys talking and being heard). while her skills as a warrior have a lot of room for improvement, she makes an excellent scout and lookout. new to the clans and never having experienced the fruition of a prophecy, she was eager to leave before the sky started falling
TFW you join your friends on Rabbit and forget that it automatically has video on and you weren’t wearing a shirt.
