“art never comes from happiness”

I just saw a post were someone had tattooed this quote onto their wrist and I felt like I had some words to say.

Whilst some of the most beautiful art may come out of the hardest times in people lives, art does come from happiness.

Art comes from the desire for happiness, the desire to create something that makes you feel better.

Art comes from the joy you feel when you are creating something. Art is beautiful and art is happiness. Art is yellow and black and grey and green. Art is everything around you.

Art does not purely stem from pain and misery.

Art comes from everything and it can’t be limited.

It HAS to come from happiness, because it comes from everything.

Art is the way your best friend looks at you and the pain you feel when you see them crying. Art is everything, I will say it over and over again until people realise.

Everything is art.

Art is everything.

And that includes you.
