Today was rough for me; my father's birthday always stirs up so many emotions since he died. You'd think having therapy this morning would help, but I'm doing a lot of intensive work and it's not just mental, it's so incredibly physical. I do best if I can go to nature after and hang in my hammock to regulate. No one was able to join us for forest school, so normally we'd just stay home, but I couldn't today. I really needed my hammock time and thankfully Jiraiya agreed to go with me, just me! An absolute miracle! It was hot so I thought we'd try out AF canyon and hang by the river at the spot Ali shared with us. I was surprised when it was a good 15° cooler and felt bad we'd left the dogs home! We'll definitely take them up next time! We had the place to ourselves and Jiraiya immediately busied himself with skipping rocks, rescuing a shoe from the river, exploring around, swinging in his hammock, and eventually he built a "Home Base" out of left items we found at our spot. He was inspired by the book series he's been reading, "Our side of the Mountain" and now "On the far side of the mountain" by Jean Craighead George. I was able to regulate and journal in my hammock while he played. It was such a perfect day! Thank you Jiraiya Dragon Johnson ! I wish you would have been able to meet your Papa Doyle, he would have got a kick out of you! 💚🐉💙🐘#adventuresofaboynameddragon #stayoutsidemom #adventuresofdragonsandelephants #mentalhealthawareness #raisethemoutside #grief #loss #adventuresinutah #adventuresofadragon #exploreutah #hammocklife #adhdsquad #neurodivergent #traumahealing (at American Fork Canyon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgkG0fnOmqR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
