Ken stuck his bare feet into the stream, staring into the rushing cold water. If there was anything he was grateful for during the summer it was this, that was until his thought process was interrupted by his neighbour finding her way to the stream as well.
It took Ken a second to gage himself because the bush rattling had startled him. “Yo merce!”

"Hey, Mercedes!" Red latches onto her, an arm encircling her likes they were close friends or something. Truth be told they were hardly anything of the sort, but Red was a social girl and her typical friends were all unavailable.
