Fred Williamson walks into the film studio at 650 Bronson Ave in the blaxploitation film Black Eye (1974)
30 years ago, on this day (March 28) Johnny Depp attended the 1992 Independent Spirit Awards, at the Raleigh Studios, in Hollywood, California.
On that day, Johnny was not competing for an award, but was one of the presenters, and went on stage with the actress Lily Tomlin to present and announce the winner on the “Best Director” category for Martha Coolidge and her movie “Rambling Rose”.
> Curiosities: * The whole show is not held inside the building, but outside inside a tent in a parking lot. * At that time, Johnny had recently finished the filming of “Arizona Dream” and in two months was going to start filming for “Benny & Joon”.
NEW PICTURE! Thanks Liz Dean 4 this awesome pic of Mary McDonnell & Olivia Jane at Raleigh Studios Farewell party on 12/7/7. Love it!. https://www.instagram.com/p/BcbfDSeguF6/

The Harmon - Ising Cartoon Studio was located on Melrose Avenue in the complex now known as Raleigh Studios.
Raleigh Studios, one of the original studios built during the silent film era (under a different name), still stands today as one of the busiest lots in town.
For over fifteen years it was base of operations for American International Pictures. It was here that Roger Corman made all his Edgar Allen Poe films and where AIP filmed interiors for their many biker and blaxploitation movies.
Here it is posing as the “Schecter Studio” in the film The First Nudie Musical (1976). Other than its paint job, it hasn’t changed much at all.
