As much as I love Boris and Theo, I hate the obsession people have with them being together, especially when they were younger. They romanticize a situation which is not ideal. Yes the book is amazing, those vegas adventures, the pool, the fights they had, the nights they spent together, but it still was poisonous and catastrophic. I love Theo and Boris but I don’t like to romanticize their toxicity. The story does not boil down to “Theo is gay!!! Theo is gay!!!” It’s so much more than that.
i gotta be real i don’t understand why you sent me specifically this message lol but the “obsession people have with them being together” is based on the fact that boris’s presence in theo’s life is a major MAJOR part of the entire narrative and his character literally serves to move the plot forward+to its conclusion... like the book doesn’t exist if they’re not together. the story hinges on theo and boris’s relationship inarguably
